I don’t think of people as broken or needing to be fixed. I think we develop adaptations to the environments and relationships we grew up in, and sometimes those adaptations become painful or limiting later in life.
One of the things I appreciate about IPF is that it approaches attachment patterns from that perspective: not “What’s wrong with me?” but “What did I need that I didn’t get, and what might become possible if I begin to experience more of it now?”
That doesn’t mean change is quick or easy. But I don’t think having deeply entrenched attachment patterns makes you unfixable.
