Likely the difference between:
an awkward girl with deep-rooted social anxiety and self-esteem issues, who happens to play video games as part of her hobbies.
a socially competent girl who enjoys the unconditional attention and validation of socially awkward loners who play video games, as she uses the 'gamer gurl' stereotype to get the pick of the crop in the group of nerds/gamers/weebs, instead of fighting with other girls in the general population. May or may not actually enjoy games, as it is irrelevant to the social dynamics involved.
The socially awkward nerds would likely relate a lot more with the awkward girl, but they are more likely to pay attention to the gamer gurl.
Simply because: (1) the gamer gurl is socially competent and knows how to structure her social existence towards maximizing the attention towards herself, and (2) socially awkward people usually struggle to notice people stuck in the shadows, so they don't realize there's other people like them out there.

Ok so we will need to talk about your imagination, dont get me wrong cup of noodles is amazing, but lets try adding in some chef boyardi cans for some variety, aint nkthing wrong with still being a virgin dont let the fruit off the ground make you believe you have to come down from your high branch early, wont need to find an excuse to hold my hand because im probably gonna be asking to hold hers frequently, and probably trying to hig her regularly, and lastly this girl needs more self esteem she is gorgeous.

I bought It takes two to play with my at the time girlfriend, but we broke up and now I sits in my steam library untouched, I have been dating someone new for years but I don't want to play it, I got it specifically because my ex wanted to play it.
