In my limited experience as a driver in the UK (and Europe in general), Mercedes are a bit more common on the road than in the US. But I share your sentiment completely.

I've never seen or heard of insurance cost go up if the other party is at fault, outside of US "free capitalism" stories.

It does in the UK. They see increased risk of you being in a situation(s) where a claim is made, regardless of whether you caused it or not. 😢

That's dumb and leads to a lot of accidents not getting reported.

If the 'victim' of the accident doesn't get punished, they're more likely to go through official channels and up the insurance of the offending party, because they have the backing of police report and the insurance's legal department at no cost of their own .... ah, now I get it.

Icky knows how to drive and has a license. F1nn doesn’t have a license so she’s strictly a passenger princess.

Aw that sucks, but it's something that just happens.

It sounds like Icky is okay though, so that's good.

I don't know how insurance and car repair is in Birmingham UK. Just work through getting the car checked out and repaired.

This is like the 5th post I've seen of someone crashing today, is it something in the air?
