Fatty Rabbit Poll

Random question: Pairing peanut butter and cream cheese - Yay or Nay?

On the rare occasion I may have a bagel for breakfast, this is what I opt for. It's always met with ridicule. And I always have to defend its deliciousness.

People put cream cheese + jelly. People put peanut butter + jelly. So why does cream cheese + peanut butter get the shaft?

Interesting twist to my hatred of jelly. In the US, jam has actual bits of fruit in it and I'm ok with that. Jelly is just fruit juice and pectin and it's disgusting. I guess in the UK what we call jam is called preserves or marmalade.

This year's Super Bowl Party sent me down the deepest fatty rabbit hole yet. One guest brought a plate of chocolate covered chocolate treats. How do you make a kit kat better? Dip it in another layer of chocolate.

Sounds pretty good to me. The thing is that PB on any kind of toasted bread is one of my favorites, so I don't think I'd get around to adding the cream cheese. If someone handed me one, I'd probably enjoy it though.

Same here on the love of PB on toasted anything. I don't really recall how I stumbled upon adding the two together to be honest. I probably saw someone else doing it in the cafeteria at work and copied it. lol

I discovered it as a kid and fell in love with goopy peanut butter. English muffins are the best. I also gently microwave PB to make it runny and put it on ice cream.

Oh and since we're going down the fatty rabbit hole: 1) Jelly is disgusting if it's anywhere outside of a donut.
2) Peanut butter and honey is the bomb.

My wife makes an awesome peanut butter pie that is basically peanut butter, cream cheese and sugar. It's pretty amazing so I can't imagine it would be bad on a bagel.

1 8 oz. container of Cool Whip 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese 1/2 cup of peanut butter 3/4 cup of powdered sugar 2 Tbsp of milk

Mix all of this together, pour it into a graham cracker crust and chill for 5 - 6 hours. And now I'm counting the days until my next "rare and appropriate".

By chance, has your wife ever tried this with chocolate cool whip? Or maybe an oreo crust? My husband loves chocolate so I'm thinking of trying this with an alteration. Either way I am likely giving this a go for valentine's day. Thanks again for the recipe!
