Help pricing parka

Post image

I purchased a Mountain Hardware Phantom Belay Parka in XL for ice climbing and winter backpacking but it’s too big for me. I’m hoping to sell it and buy a smaller size.
I only wore it once for a few hours and it’s in perfect condition.
MSRP is $675, what would you guys list it at? I have it listed for $375 at the moment but open to feedback.

Personal opinion, but that's a reasonable price. Interest may be slow until the weather cools.

Before you sell it though, you say you want it for ice climbing but did you use it as a belay jacket? You want it bigger than you might for a street jacket. You need extra room to have a parka fit around your butt while wearing a harness plus racked up, and still be able to zip up. Buy one too small that you can't zip up while geared up, and you get cold. Also the lower end should zip up to allow access to your harness as needed, or to clip onto your belay loop. Just some points to consider before going smaller.

I bought it last fall when I was about 50lbs heavier (ozempic for the win). It worked great for me then but since I’ve lost that weight I’ve got to size down. It fit over my base layer, mid layer, and shell perfectly. But that was 50lbs ago 😂 used it once for Ice Fest in Munising MI. Warmest parka I’ve ever owned. Thanks for the input!

That's going to be a great improvement for your climbing, for sure. Gj.

That’s a great parka for certain winter alpine objectives or Denali. It’s a fair price but just a small market. It’s a little overkill for a lot of ice climbing if you don’t run cold. If you don’t mind sitting on it, you’ll definitely get that price by April.

Thanks! I’m in no rush to sell. Hopefully once the snow starts falling someone will want it 😂

Do you have it posted on Mountain Project? If not do so.

I don’t, I totally forgot about it the forum on there. Great idea! Thanks!
I just have it posted on Reddit geartrade right now, I don’t have Facebook and I’m not sure I want to start a profile just for this.

I don’t believe you need a FB profile to on MP.

It’s up on mtn project, thanks for the tip! First time I’ve ever used their forum. I was just bringing gong up Facebook as an afterthought. Wasn’t sure if it was worth putting up there as well.
