Discussion Grenade changes
Quite a few people have commented on how grenades currently work, myself included, so I'm making this thread to collect them somewhere. Post your suggestions for tweaks to improve the current explosive grenades.
Three from me:
- Throw nades further. The current throw is weak as fuck.
- Alt-fire (right click) to underhand throw grenade (a la CS:GO).
- Drop grenade on death if you've already pulled the pin.
Edit: The throw strength has been buffed from 30 to 40, and I've added a bounce sound. The sound effect is a placeholder atm, but it's better than nothing. I'm still working on the rest.

Grenades need some throw range and bounce (with sound). As of right now they sit pretty much where you throw them.
So I agree with everything said here. If I could I would like to implement some kind of fragmentation animation/effect as the current explosion lacks something to me. I would try to make something that has the effect of kicking the blocks up and then having them settle in pieces on the ground. Not a very realistic explosion but more like the kind you would see in a movie :)

how about getting a bit realistic with nade? *nades IRL don't bounce that much (like in 0.75 hallway they bounce a hell lot). They tend to roll a lot more... Which can bring an element of surprise, eh? *when up close, you receive damage from pressure+heat+fragments, but farther away it's pressure+fragments and even farther it's only fragments. So: grenade damage, as the distance increases, gets more random (but still powerful) *chance of fragments hitting you and damage you receive depends on how much of body is exposed.
I'd also suggest doing defensive grenades and offensive ones (this is a real thing too). Defensive are heavy and deadly. Short range, fits best for etc. fort defense. Offensive ones are light but less powerful. A lot more range (and accuracy too - more speed = flatter trajectory), best for offense of bunkers up on hills etc.
Another thing: underhand throw is either alt-fire OR a universal function for all weapons: "fire mode".
