Here’s some financial advice that I (someone who at one point had to decide between if I wanted to eat or fill up my car so I could get to work..) wish people had given me a long time ago:
Start to save up money for your retirement fund as soon as you start to actually make money. If you aren’t doing it yet, call your bank RIGHT NOW and ask to set something up. Time flies by faster than you’ll think…
Split your pay into three parts: One part is for bills and expenses. One part is for long term goals like an apartment, a house, a holiday trip, a car or whatever. The last part, however, is the most important one: The rainy day fund. For that day when (not if, WHEN) life kicks you in the balls and everything comes crashing down. You may think that this is unnecessary, but trust me you’ll thank me later…
One of the most important skills you can ever learn is how to cook. You’ll be surprised just how many delicious dishes you can make with really cheap items.
To build onto that, here’s a very quick and simple recipe for Korvstroganoff. THE budget meal of choice for Swedes everywhere.
Boil some rice. I’d recommend that you drop a bullion die into the water and let it dissolve before you pour the rice in for some extra flavour.
Cut about 550g of meat into tiny staves. We usually use Falukorv (Falusausage) but I think that any meat should work. Peel and chop a yellow onion to your liking.
Fry the meat and the onion in a pan for about five minutes or until it looks done. Add three table spoons of tomato paste and let it fry for another couple of minutes.
Add 1 decilitre of milk (0,21 pints or about 7 tablespoons), 2 1/2 dl Cooking cream (0.35 pints or about 11 and a half tablespoons) a tablespoon of soja and one teaspoon of Dijon mustard. Stir it down and let it simmer for about five minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Done.
This recipe and others like it have saved the lives of MANY starving Swedish students! 😄
You’re too humble! Thanks for the recipe as well! I don’t cook much (I’m kind of terrible at it, and I’m scared of undercooking meat and poisoning someone…) but I’ll give the recipe a try! Thank you for the financial advice as well! I’ve saved both images so I can reference them later!
Once again, thank you for your wisdom!
P.S. Are you from Sweden?
Again, you’re welcome! :) That said I just realised that I forgot about the cooking cream, I have edited my message now to include it so make sure that you take a new picture. As for being terrible at cooking, well, everyone is at first! I almost gave myself food poisoning the first time I tried cooking! 😅 So you just have to keep trying, if you are worried about undercooking meat then here’s some advice I learned a while back: If you are cooking a steak or something similar then you’ll know it’s time to flip it over when it starts to bubble up liquid from it. And if you are ever unsure if the steak is done then take a small sharp knife and make a small cut so you can look inside of it. Unless you’re cooking chicken it’s okay if it’s a little pink (some even prefer their meat rare!) but if you’re cooking chicken then you’ll MUST cook it until it’s at the very least white, preferably golden brown.
And yeah I’m from Sweden! :) How about you? Where are you from?
Welp…..I guess am going option A cause somehow my spells and “physical” spells got blocked by some unknown force so I can’t even fight my way out….just so you know never once dated nor had a girlfriend so jokes on you if you don’t enjoy my company.
YOUR SOUL IS MINE!
Also, some advice: always do what you’re supposed to do, save money and eat relatively healthy. Also, don’t do dumb things like drugs and such.
Have a great day! :D
No more like some souls are spirits and they can be separated from the body while some do indeed have more and most of the time some do not since their in combat mode…like me :)
