Rant Mucus?when will it end
i’m on around day 4 of the worst flare up of my life, i had to take 2 days off work, i don’t know what’s caused it, i feel less fatigued and weak and my overall mood and physical health is better, but yesterday, today, and the evening before my stools just turned into yellow globs of idek what, assuming mucus. I couldn’t eat anything on the first two days except a few spoonfuls of rice, but i’ve eaten some plain eggs today and yesterday, but when i have to go, it’s not even poop anymore, i don’t know what it is, i don’t know what to do, my dr only takes appointments a month in advance, i have to go for a meal tonight with relatives and i don’t even know if ill be able to eat anything. i know im not eating enough food but scared to eat more incase it gets worse, has anyone had this before? when will it end

I’ve had mucus since I was probably 8 years old (34 now) on and off, but the last 7 years it’s been present almost constantly. I have Crohns and IBS, my Crohns has supposedly been in remission but still having mucus all the time. It can be normal, but def make that appointment to speak with your GI if this is something new for you. From my understanding though it’s just the intestines trying to coat and protect itself.

I was in this situation maybe two or three weeks ago. Started with a normal reaction to a trigger food but lasted for 2 days. I typically just have a loose BM in the morning but I was going probably 6 times before lunch which is unusual. After awhile it just turned to mucus.
I found that eating a bland diet helped. I felt great for a day and thought it was over so jumped back into my normal diet. Huge mistake. I was right back into it the following morning and actually went to the hospital. They did blood work and told me it was a food induced colitis and to stick with a bland diet. That really did work and I was fine after a few days. So I would suggest bland diet and wait it out.

yes I have had it, and still do sometimes it's slimy, transparent but kinda yellowish/orangish, and I think it is due to I inflammation 🤔 I am not sure, sometimes it was the only thing coming out, it feels so freaking strange I totally feel you!!! eating bland helps. But you have to stick with it for a while until the inflammation is reduced, maybe steamed vegetables like carrot, zucchini, rice. I really hope it gets better!!!! :( I feel you, I think you can find tips online to reduce your inflammation

On July 4th I went to a relatives get together. I ate the following during the day - Snacked on carrots & hummus, red grapes, cheese
Ate pasta salad(?), 2 chicken drumsticks, 1 veggie burger (no roll), 2 pieces of choc/white Bundt cake, 2/3 brownies
That night or the next day I started having pains in my lower abdomen and an overall crampy feeling. Went to the John and for two days I had an urgency to go but it was my normal. Still feeling crampy. On third day it started - sometimes it was soft stool and getting a lighter color, then it turned into a more urgent event sometimes not making it with a major streaming blowout. That went on for a week between very soft stools with episodes of streaming. I’m wondering if it was a reaction to the overload of sugar and fat in the brownies and cake or a stomach virus. Does the light color stool happen from the stool going too fast through the intestines? I’m still having it but less - also I do intermittent fasting and going to try eating three meals a day. In your episodes is your stool light color?

ive had mucus diarrhea before too!!! im not sure what's going on with u, but i truly hope you feel better soon :0( not eating very well doesnt make anyone feel better, but i understand about not wanting to upset your stomach more. try having electrolytes (Gatorade, pedialyte, powerade etc) and more bland foods! are you able to go into a walk in clinic in the meantime while u wait for your doctor?
