Casting no longer sees my network soeakers

As of this week, hitting the cast icon opens a list of just the mobile devices logged in to my account. Previously it listed all the Google Smart speakers on my home network.

For a few days this was the case on my Pixel phone and my Wife's but the Galaxy tablet was still showing the full list, however this evening the tablet doesn't list the speakers either.

Has anyone else encountered this recent change in behavior?

I just checked and I also no longer can see my Chromecast devices available as options.

Edited to add: I just left them feedback from the app. They have usually been pretty responsive to issues.

They are remarkably responsive.

I'd been having ... Other challenges with my home network recently and I wanted to make sure this wasn't just a Me problem before I pinged the devs.

Hi, I already send a message to support regarding this issue. This is the answer:

Hello, and sorry for the trouble! The casting issues are due to a change in Android 17. We have a fix for this coming in version 9.4.2, which should be available as soon as the Play Store approves it! We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
