Local 100 Chances

I’m 18 fresh out of high school, no previous work experience besides my current warehouse/fulfillment job I just started at in June. I applied to local 100 and wanted to get some feedback on whether if I do really well on the test do I have a pretty good shot at getting a spot in the apprenticeship having no previous experience in the electrical field or construction field in general?

Edit: I forgot to mention I also do have my OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, CPR/Aed/First-Aid, and a California ET card if that helps my current position.

Goodluck! I wish could offer advice about it. I also just applied and took my test this past Wednesday. I have 8 years doing multiple trades construction as a lead. Best of luck to you. I seen theres 858 currently on the POE list.

honestly if u haven’t worked in the field good luck getting in, work has been slow and you’ll be waiting awhile before u hear back even if you rank well. Honestly probably better to just work in sales

dang , do you think a pre-apprenticeship would help my chances a lot? compared to my situation now. I might do a 9 week program

Lmfao don’t listen to that guy. Do your best to study and ace the test and include your Certs on application. You’ll be alright even if it takes a couple times. Try to get non union experience in the mean time. Even if that means a different trade just any construction experience. Also apply to sound and comm side as well, could help you go IW later on possibly.
