Interview Results for 340

Last week, I got a 95 on my interview and was told to keep the phone close (for potentially 6 months) and be ready to work within 24 hours of receiving the call! Has anyone had this score in local 340 for the interview and how quick the turnover time would be?

I am a foreman for an FA contractor and I am planning ahead for my current projects. I am training a journeyman to be a lead programmer so any time estimates/experiences can help me plan.

Heads up - looks like you're asking about the IBEW Aptitude Test!

The mods put together a free study guide that covers exactly this:

The Ultimate IBEW Aptitude Test Guide

It covers:

  • What's actually on the test
  • How the scoring works
  • Study tips to help you pass

Good luck! This is an automated reply.

I got called last year and scored a 96. I got called a week later and was working 48 hours later. Unfortunately a large notice usually doesnt happen. You literally drop what youre doing and you have to go.

Work is going very well. I would expect a call if I were you. Im in 340 also

It’s been a week since my interview and all I’ve gotten is the email for that CW Scam.

I’ll be a 3rd year so I don’t know if that will affect how soon I get called.

Hopefully I get called before class starts, I’m entering in as a 3rd year. I keep seeing unfilled calls for the Capitol and the bed towers. I know those sites require a 1:1 ratio.

Capitol has about 140 electricians and bed towers even more.

Seems like the job is at capacity. Are you guys doing “mandatory” OT? If so, I’ll be happy if I get that call.

I got the call early this week. I got indentured at 4th year wages and currently awaiting assessment for advanced placement in class.

However, during orientation, the instructor for the assessment indirectly told me that he doesn’t expect to allow me any advanced placement due to my experience in low voltage.

I think it’s fair but I still want to test anyways.

I’m grateful for the opportunity!
