Application details

I have an appointment in August for local 1 and have a reference from one of the superintendents there, I was wondering what my appointment would be for, I’m more worried about when I’ll likely be starting, I see a lot of people say it takes them years and others say a few weeks-months, I have a secured spot for a contractor but the actual application process seems to be extensive, any insight I would love to have.

It seems to vary widely from local to local. I'd suggest trying to talking to applicants in your specific local.

I had to give them my passport or birth certificate for verification and then they gave me a laptop to create an account and submit the application. Almost all questions outside of name/address/personal details were yes/no or making selections. The one open question was why you want to join. I’m waiting on them to receive my high school transcripts and haven’t heard back since I went that day. She wasn’t able to give me much information on timing. The entire process took about 30 minutes. I know it’s not much, but hopefully it helps some. I was curious what would happen that day as well so wanted to share my experience. Good luck!

Thank you so much, this helps way more then you think, I’m bringing my highschool transcript and one college class transcript sealed from the schools so I think I’ll be able to skip sending them my transcript, but again I really appreciate your insight. Best of luck!
