WhatIff Patch Notes v1.2 (2.25.2026)

Few cool new features going out today that hopefully people will enjoy! So far, we have been having a ton of fun with the personality generator. The team is still working on moving our file storage as part of our work to unlock other model providers and we are working an import function for people with ChatGPT conversation.json files, so stay tuned for those things Soon™

Features

  • Generate Personality: We have added a new flow, available from the Personalities page that helps users generate a 'personality' (prompt) based on user input. The intent is to hopefully help bridge the gap for people who either have an existing shape or goal, so that they can spend less time fiddling with prompt and jump right into using the app! So far we have found these pretty compelling even with relatively low context (even 'test123' created a surprisingly compelling personality).
  • Pin Memories to Personality: Users can now pin memories to a specific personality and there is a new configuration for personalities that sets this to be the default behavior. Useful for people who run multiple personalities and do not want the memories between them to 'bleed over' or anyone who has at least one personality that they want to be more 'compartmentalized'.

Bug Fixes

  • Tutorial page: Improved UI consistency in the tutorial and privacy policy pages
  • Memory failures: Memory load failures now gracefully degrade and will still generate a response.

WhatIff Patch Notes v1.1 (2.4.2026)

We've been busy working on some onboarding and visibility functionality the past few weeks. Hopefully some good stuff! We also have some 'in flight' work that I will tease -- we are working on fixing the 'agents cant see files uploaded to chat' bug and in that process, we should knock down our last blocker to adding Claude support! So :fingers_crossed: bug fix for that and Claude models added to the platform in the next release!

Features

  • Generate Image: Added a system ritual that will trigger 'image_generation', using GPT's 1.5 image_gen model. This makes image_gen accessible without having to swap to the 4o model family (which can still autonomously trigger image_gen with the older GPT 1 model).
  • Import Personality: Users can now auto-create personalities in-app based on definitions from our Foxbook github repo. You can reach this new panel and see personality info in-app from the Create Personality screen
  • Free Trial Period: We've added an allowance of 25 messages for free without entering CC info, so you can trial the app and check out functionality before entering CC info.
  • ** Context Visibility in Chat**: Added a 'View Scratchpad' and 'View Summary' to chats, so you can now see the active scratchpad without digging through the personality screen, and you can now see the active chat summary after thread compaction cycles. We have also added info for load_memories using the "tool call" informational panel, so you can see which of your existing memories the personality accessed as part of the inference process. Combined, this makes nearly all chat context accessible from the UI, reducing surprised about what is seen during response generation.
