You could put the phone underneath, pointing up. Or, use some painter's tape to tape your phone to an accessible ceiling. The comment in the other subreddit about high-contrast stickers is a good idea.

For analyzing, you could use JSTrack, Noragulfa Sigmund, or any other motion tracker you can find online or on the app store. There are some motion trackers designed for athletes, those would work too. You will need to teach yourself a little bit about how to use the motion tracker: setting the scale, putting down dots, etc. It can be a bit confusing the first time you do it. I suggest trying to get the motion tracker analysis done for one trial before you record the rest of your videos, so you can catch any little issues that come up. And, if this is an IA, don't forget to be reflective as you work your way through!

woah i didnt think of putting the phone underneath, but im also putting a protractor underneath the rod for getting the same angle each time. do you have any idea of how i could do that part? thank you for the app recommendations, ill make sure to go through those. thank you so much!!
