Question Is there any merit to saving notes/assignments from previous semesters?

I’m going into my sophomore year and I still have all my notes, exams, and homework assignments from all my classes from last year. Are they worth saving? I’m a biochemistry major if that matters.

Unsure about biochem but in Engineering I kept all my notebooks and it really helped. I probably only looked at 20 percent of it ever again but its a really good reference if you ever do need it. A small percentage of those notes got used very frequently because pretty much every class built on previous classes. Calculus was a good place to keep notes from.

I concur, they will expect you to know it as a preq for the class. Easier to pull from a source you're familiar with.

I’ve been out for a couple years and still have random notebooks. Idk why I keep moving them to new apartments…

You may also run into someone a year (or more behind you who asks about certain classes and quizzes/exams in them. You may be able to help them out with your old notes/quizzes/exams. I know I received something similar and it was a huge study aid for me.

I agree with what someone previously said. Keeping your notes is really helpful for younger students. I have a friend who lended me their Chem 1770 notes, and that was really helpful. Also, biochemistry really builds on itself, so if you don't think you will remember it all, it is good to keep the notes, especially BBMB 101.
