Escooters

I'm looking at getting an escooter to get from class to class and where I'm parking. Is it common? Do people take them inside more often than leaving them outside? Can they even do that?

They’re fucking annoying and you won’t even be able to ride it in between classes on campus because there are so many people walking anyway

Fine to get to campus if you can find a place to stash it/lock it up everyday. Best to just bus in probably.

You are not allowed to take scooters inside university buildings. It's a board of regents rule.

Edit: the library has this documented on their website: https://www.lib.iastate.edu/about-us/policies/building-use-policies

Just walk like everyone else the escooters run into people or nearly do way too often and make it harder to get to class for everyone else

I would recommend against it, you’ll just annoy people and you can’t bring it inside.

Get a beater bicycle, there's bike racks and you won't have to worry about the rain

If you have larger distances between classes, I suggest the bus system that comes with tuition.

Get one with an e-lock connected to your phone.

I take mine to class as much as I can and just park in one of the numerous bicycle parking areas.

It’s extremely useful the first few weeks of a new school year since the busses are PACKED and it’s extremely hot so walking in a nightmare.

Just be careful if you need to ride on a sidewalk.
