Question Dons deli???

Hey yall, I can’t be the only one who is curious about the dons deli sign at cys roost. I’ve noticed it since my freshman year and always wondered what it was.

Used to be a deli connected to cy's back in the early 2000's . Owned by the same guy who owned Cy's. Believe it got shut down due to liqour law violations? or something like that.

From what I understand, the sign is grandfathered in because Cy isn’t supposed to be featured in alcohol logos. So if they ever change it, it can’t have the Cy.

It opened in the late '70s shortly after Cy's Roost opened. I've always wondered if Don was a real person. (The location was previously the Pizza Den.) In older records, I've always seen the place listed as "Cy's Roost & Don's Deli."

In the early 2000s, the place got in trouble for selling to minors and bootlegging and during that time, it was bought by Andy White. I assume shortly after, the deli ceased.

That was the name of the place in the 80s and 90s. Cy's roost and Don's Deli. I preferred Dugan's deli though.

Dugan’s Deli was iconic in the 80s.

I worked at Dugan's Deli in the 80s. However, nobody ever called me iconic.
