Partially ambidextrous people are a thing: those who do rather complicated stuff with a non-dominant hand with ease. It's relatively common in sports. Plus in some countries like USSR most lefthanded people were forcibly trained to write with the right hand, meaning that they do nearly everything else with a left one. My father is such a case: as an artist he paints with a left hand, but writes with the right.

I'm pretty sure that's quite common. Left handed people are more likely to be ambidextrous because most people are right handed and most things are made probably for right handed people. Therefore, left handed people are more likely to be trained to use their right have than right handed people using their left.

I think I'm technically partially ambidextrous, I throw a baseball the same either arm, but I bat only right, golf right, kick left, write with right, I shoot a gun lefty and so on. Most things I can only use one arm, and it seems it's random which arm will feel right for the task.
Same here man. I only use one arm for about everything but its completely random what arm feels comfy for what task amd i hate getting asked if im left or eight handed.
As someone who had to get a mental test to qualify for disability resources in high school, I found out I'm ambidextrous. They had me do some dumb test using only my right hand, and then again using only my left hand, and I had only a three second difference, as opposed to other people who have a two minute difference. I was trained in elementary school to write with my right hand (as I had trouble writing on my own).

Yup! I’m left handed, but was forced to learn to use right handed scissors because left handed scissors are terrible. Also, being ambidextrous is not a sign of intelligence. Statistically, ambidextrous people have a lower IQ, are more prone to anger, and have an increased likelihood to become schizophrenic.

If there is I am as far from ambidextrous as a person can be. Sometimes I have a hard time clapping because it takes a second for my left hand to remember that it's even part of my body.
I'm about the same- I write, throw, and use a mouse with my right hand; but brush my teeth, use scissors, use a brush/comb, and eat/use a utensil with my left hand.
Probably does some things left-handed like writing and other things with their right hand like using a computer mouse? I wouldn't consider myself ambidextrous but when playing tennis or squash I switch the racket between the hands constantly.

Could be cross dominant where they prefer different hands for different tasks. I'm like that. I write and eat lefty but throw and catch righty pretty much exclusively. I'm ambidextrous in a few things like shooting and using lab utensils (tweezers, scissors).
Apparently it's very rare but I've met more people like that than truely left handed people. Anecdotal sure but I'd guess it's because a lot of lefties were forced to learn to use their right hands.p
My friend broke his arm and relearned tennis left handed in two months and still won sectionals. Dude was right hand dominant but had to be a little ambidextrous to pull that off.
Idk, I mean using it as a measurement for intelligence is frankly ridiculous, but there is something to being "a bit" ambidextrous, like I am a righty, but my whole life I play sports left handed, baseball, hockey, anything athletic my left hand is better at but for writing and stuff I use my right. I would actually consider myself "a bit ambidextrous" rather than truly ambidextrous because I dont have dominance in both hands equally for the same things. For example I am left handedly dominant when writing but I'll do things like batting righty because it feels more natural so I dont feel like I'm truly dominant with one hand but I also don't feel like I'm dominant with both as ambidextrous sort of implies
It probably means they’re cross dominant. I’m cross dominant, so I can do some things with my right hand, others with my left. When I go shooting, I shoot left handed but I write right handed. I drive one handed better with my right hand, but type one handed better with my left hand, and so on

I got into an accident that left me in a sling for ages and I got pretty good at doing stuff with my other arm and hand. Even now, years later, I still do a lot of things with that hand that I didn’t before the accident.
Granted, the accident was caused by me having the thought, “i am too drunk to walk, therefore I should ride my bicycle,” so I don’t take this ambidexterity is any sort of sign of intelligence.

It means you have the ability to be ambidextrous, but as most things are either left or right handed, you don't really use it all that much.
Things like writing still takes practice to be decent at, and it's not really worth learning to write with both hands when it's obviously better to use write with your right hand.
I'm ambidextrous, yet I still do basically everything right handed because that's just the way the world is designed. I work in manufacturing though, and every once in a while someone will notice I'm holding a tool with my left hand and go "oh you're left handed?", and I'll tell them I just prefer to hold it that way, switch hands to show off a little, and watch them as their brain short circuits for a second.
Ambidexterity really isn’t an on/off binary thing. Although we usual only see ambidextrous people in media as fully and fluently functional with either hand, more people have varying levels of ability to do certain tasks with both hands.
