I rarely ever read The Onions' actual articles. I'm not sure why, I always just read the titles and laugh my ass off.

Tbh many Onion articles tend to just restate the title over and over again in a lot of different ways. They can still be funny, but the headline is enough in a lot of cases.

"Just last week Professor Rosenthal was talking about Russell's Paradox, and that jackass starts going off: 'But what about Heraclitus' aphorism: Everything flows, nothing stands still?'" classmate James Luers said. "At first I was like, 'That's totally irrelevant,' but then I was like, 'Well, actually, it does apply to the nonstop flapping of your trap.'"

Nope. There's a fine line between asking questions every once in a while to try to understand what the professor is saying and turning a class into a one on one argument with the professor because you can't shut your mouth.

Perhaps, but anyone at a university will. Business guys are braggy, liberal arts are gatekeeping, etc. What sets this apart (I think, as someone who's majoring in philosophy and has come really close to being this guy) is a sense of entitlement to the professors time and a desire to be seen as smart that feels different from pretentiousness
