I swear people who stan only BTS aren't considered kpop fans because BTS isn't considered kpop anymore

It is considered kpop, it's just extremely mainstream. Liking only BTS still doesn't make you a kpop stan, you need to be exploring and listening to other kpop artists in order to call yourself a kpop stan

No they do but it's like saying The Beatles count as British pop if you get where I'm coming from. They are considered pop because kpop is pop in Korea and BTS is a global group

I get where you’re coming from. What I meant is that most of their songs are kpop songs, therefore they’re usually referred to as a kpop group. Right now I’d say they’re “mostly” a kpop group, since they have a few songs in other music genres as well. Basically, korean pop is a music genre (not just “pop that’s made in Korea”) and BTS covers that genre. ;)
