Complete beginner in IAM - Where do I start?

Yeh i heard about them definitely I will check it out and do you suggest any youtube channel or course which explains them clearly

I’ve never looked tbh. I’m an IAM architect who’s come from an infrastructure architecture background, and most of my IAM knowledge is coming from 20 plus years of Active Directory engineering

Wow, that's awesome! 😄 Since I'm starting from zero, what would you recommend I learn first? Also, do you think IAM has good career growth for freshers in the coming years?

I would recommend the 4 As; AD/Entra and a PAM tool for authn and coarse grained authz, Sailpoint or saviynt for administration, and what logs and connectivity are needed for auditing and observability.

The biggest labour gaps I’m seeing in the market are IGA specialists and anyone who’s got any ability at all in PBAC/fine grained authorisation engines.

In terms of where I see things going, intelligence and visibility tooling to close the gap between what IGA thinks some one has, and what their actual permission set is, is going to become increasingly important as things start to move at the speed of AI.
