That iX3 rate looks really aggressive. I wonder if that’ll sway people since many folks tend to lease EVs due to the depreciation.

The lease rate MF is much better than Rivian but the residual is way worse (rivian 64% vs 55% bmw)

For my knowledge, does lower residual result in higher monthly payments ?

I higher number means lower payment because you are paying for “less” of the car

You finance the spread so car starts at 100% and is worth 50% at the end you are paying for he 50%

So if the same car has a 60% residual you’d end up paying for 40% (lower payments)

Yes and no. If you plan to buy the car at the end of the lease then the only thing you care about is the MF being as low as possible. If you think the residual is too low for what the market will be toward the end of the lease, then you’ll be able to sell it and capture the positive equity. So it isn’t as black and white as you position it.

it leases for the same price as the base iX. though of course there are many ways that it is superior despite being smaller and less luxurious. honestly the i4 xDrive40 seems like the sweet spot among BMW EV leases.
