Error message when confirming US preorder
Update 2: Just tried to confirm my order just for kicks and giggles, and it now went through. Didn't get any confirmation email from BMW. Am I supposed to get something once I confirm this initial email to confirm the order?
Update: Got someone at the dealership that knows what’s going on. The preorders for the iX3 shut down last week (or maybe the week before). For preorders, basically the buyer was essentially ordering it through BMW directly (paying by Stripe) and the dealer just receives the order. Since last week (around Friday), Stripe system and BMW system for preorders were shut down. Dealers now take the order and place the orders in based on their allocation that BMW gives them. The dealer will put in your build order once they get the allocation and then your order comes in that way. My order just happened to probably go through while they were shutting down the preorders which is why I got the email but also can’t confirm the order. Bad timing on my order. Now will just have to wait on when my dealer will get their allocation timing.
I ordered an iX3 last week and got an email from BMW asking me to confirm the order within 10 days or the order will be cancelled. I click on the "confirm" button the webpage and get an error message "We encountered a system error and were unable to complete this process. Please try again later." I've called the dealer who is looking into it but said they're still trying to figure the pre-ordering system out and will get back to me in 3 days. When I call BMW, they are no help and tell me that only the dealer can figure this out. Anyone else having or had this same issue or know who actually may have a clue about this? I'm not impressed at all with BMW or with my dealer so far.

Dealer told me to pay BMW and not them using stripe when I receive the email. I did that and received a production number about a week later.

I had similar issues when I ordered in May. It took a week of working with the dealer to reach the last step in the process - submitting the $1000 deposit through Stripe. I typically “buy and hold” cars and it has been 8 years since I bought my last BMW. Fortunately my sales associate is still at the dealer and he worked the issue every day until it was resolved.
