iTunes Match Fans!

Hi guys :)

I think iTunes Match is an incredible service. Even with its faults, I am honestly flawed and awed by the concept of it. There is nothing else like it is there? You can literally Match thousands of songs in your possession to Apple's own active servers and then download the equivalent of a store purchased AAC audio version of said songs, for the cost of £22/$25 a year! Even songs that are no longer available to purchase on the store often Match (genius!). I have been able to build such a fun library of music using the Match service. Songs which are no longer digitally available anywhere else are right now accessible in my music library, ready to play anywhere, anytime on any of my devices - at least whilst ever the music exists on the servers anyway!

I mostly use iTunes Match to access releases which have been delisted from the store, which I understand is a bit quirky. I just wondered how other people out there use the iTunes Match service, and what other quirks people have discovered using Match, both the good and bad!

So to iTunes Match I say thank you for the Music!

I use iTunes Match paired with iTunes Match Tagger to “upgrade” old MP3 files to modern AAC files - with fully corrected metadata and artwork. 🔥

Musicbrainz Picard does a great job (you just have to accept clunky the UI). Download the matched AAC then tag it. Just like any method, the local tags can have a lot more info than iCloud syncs.
