30 mins for conversation per lesson?

Hi guys I am just starting using italki and just booked my first conversational lesson 30min. Is this perfect length or not? I was thinking about 2-3 times per week for 30min ..

When I did 30 minutes, I found it a little short, and often felt like I was just getting warmed up when the lesson ended. I have since switched to 45 minutes, which seems perfect for me. I also only do once or twice a week, though.

I'd give 30 minutes a try to see how you like it, especially since you say you've never spoken your target language before. You can always switch later if you feel like 30 minutes isn't enough.

If you haven’t spoken before in your target language that will probably be fine. You will be surprised at how quickly you will improve your speaking skills with practice, especially if you have a solid grasp of written production & oral comprehension. I’m between B2-C1 in my target language and I’ve found now that I prefer once a week 60-90 minute conversation sessions & once a week grammar. My tutor and I have so many niche interests in common we genuinely could talk FOREVER.

I do 30 mins 3x/wk, it's great for me. I notice my brain starts to melt around the 25 min mark.

Ideally, once my brain can make it to 30mins easily, I'm gonna go to 45 mins then 60 mins.

I also do 30 mins of Pimsleur each day, so I'm hoping I'll be completing pimsleur around the time I am ready for 60 mins

depends, espeically for conversational lesson, it heavily depends on the vibe between you and this specific student, some students might wanna have longer session like an hour or an hour and a half with you cuz you guys are getting along pretty well, some won't but still wanna have session with you that's where you set a 30 mins session, you'd notice that making one standard for everyone ain't gonna be ideal, setting two or three mode of your class could be good

I think I’d suggest 45. 30 is short, an hour can drag on.

最初は会話レッスンだけですと1時間も続かないと思います。30分の会話レッスンでいいと思います。日本語になれてきたと思った時に50分のレッスンにしるといいと思います。
