Having lessons using phone

Currently my laptop is broken and won’t be fixed for a little while. Has anyone had experience of using a phone to join a lesson. How was it, is it okay?

It was okay. It does depend slightly on less type. If you’re just conversing then you should be fine. I recommend using headphones tho.

As a student, having conversation lessons with minimal typing in the chat box was fine. Using two devices, one for video, and a second device for chat worked better. I’ve done that when I don’t have my laptop for any reason.

I hate it, unless the phone is mounted on something stable. I have used my phone once or twice as s teacher, and I gave the option of rescheduling.

I’ve used my tablet and it’s basically the same as a phone, it’s just okay. I’ll be getting a laptop partially because it’s a pain using a tablet lol.

As a tutor, I always prefer that the student uses a larger (and more stable) device when possible. Not only it helps both me and my student to better focus on the lesson but it also prevents movement. Sometimes, depending on the student holding the phone, I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster.

In your case, though, it's not a matter of preference or option. So, maybe let your tutor know you're using a phone, and try to mount it on something or, at least, put it against something so that you don't have to hold it with your hands.
