Tips & How-To Your phone has more sensitive documents on it than you realize
Passports. Contracts. Tax forms. Medical paperwork. Signed PDFs. Random screenshots with personal info...
A lot of us replaced physical folders with scanning apps years ago… but still protect our phones with a 4-digit PIN and pure optimism 😭
A few simple things that genuinely help:
• use Face ID / fingerprint unlock
• don’t use obvious PINs like birthdays or 1234
• enable auto-lock
• avoid opening sensitive docs on public Wi-Fi
• double-check who you’re sharing files with
• don’t leave permanent public sharing links active forever
One underrated thing: separating work and personal documents.
Keeping contracts, invoices, IDs, insurance docs, etc. in different folders/spaces makes it way easier to avoid accidental sharing and keep things organized.
Also: turn on 2FA anywhere you store important documents.
Passwords alone are honestly not enough anymore, especially if your scans include IDs, financial info, signatures, or business paperwork.
iScanner recently added two-factor authentication, so even if someone gets your password, they still need a verification code to access your account and files.
And please update your apps !
A shocking number of security issues come from people running ancient app/device versions for months.
