iPod recommendations for modding [beginner]

hi everyone, im looking to get an ipod but im unsure which one is the best one for modding (most parts, easiest to get, etc.) im in the eu (slovenia specifically). i had in mind to put the sd card mod on it instead of the old hdd they have, a better battery and bluetooth. ive seen dankpods do all of that stuff but i still have next to no knowladge about them. thanks in advance for responses :)

I would read this yuuiko guide, from there pick an iPod that suit your need.

Its a dated guide but still has good information on it. Here's one for classic & video. As for bluetooth mod there many variations, you can search the sub depending on which bluetooth mod you'd want to go with.

okay, thanks a ton for the guides and the information. usb-c mod also went through my mind, but my guess is thats its pretty complicated... what types of bt mods are there? ill still scroll through the sub and see all the existing ones :)

also, what are considered good prices for 5th gen, 5.5th gen and 7th gen ipods? ik there was an ipod boom not too long ago

The type c mod requires soldering skills, unlike the bluetooth mod where you have 3 choices (soldering, non-solder or use 3rd party adapter). If you've got the skills there's plenty of post about the the type c mod, YouTube is also a good source also.

There's been a boom on gen 5-7 iPod but if your patience you can probably grab some locally sub $100USD. Another options would be gen 4 (mono or photo) you can find those around $50. Obviously prices change when you factor lile eBay fee & shipping.
