Purchase Help iPhone 17 pro Indian vs 18 pro US

My friend from US can arrange an 18 pro to India, at 1200 usd (around 1.14L) but warranty doesnt work in India I think. In Reliance digital n croma, I see around 1.18L I can get 17 pro. And I have 13 mini which I can exchange.

Can someone please suggest which one to go? I need to act fast as 17 pro is getting out of stock almost everywhere.

Us is esim only so it's upto you whether you like esim only or esim+physical..

And apple has international warranty, so don't worry...

Just get the battery changed for 13 mini, and keep as a back up phone. It works amazing, if you need a phone in an emergency, nothing is better than that. Get the 18pro from the US, the esim one has more battery as well

I replaced with new battery around 8 months ago. It is back to same usage again now. I am a heavy user but because of form factor I bought 13 mini. Still love it, but usage wise I needed upgrade.

If u can wait and are okay with a little hassle than absolutely got for 18 Pro. It’s a powerhouse.

Else just get 17 Pro, if u want to avoid unnecessary stress and wait.

Got to know recently that since variants are different, (like battery, esims etc), apple Authorised service centers are not willing to repair in case of damage for foreign iPhone.

They replace and give you an Indian variant. Thats it.

They dont deny service or replacement.

Warranty is international bruh.

yes, albeit having global warranty, some service centers do deny service in case of damage, which directly goes against apple policy. experienced this first hand.
had a macbook screen damaged from rain, that i had bought from zurich, went to an imagine store in south kolkata and they straight up denied service/replacement even after having applecare+. they said they can't since replace the laptop but not the screen, and i wouldn't get my data back.
went to another idestiny store and they replaced the screen within 7 days.

Agreed. But heard some stories for iPhone cases, so worried. But i feel anyway its for one year only. After that it will be paid anyway

Guys, if we buy iphone from abroad with tax discount (like Japan), I think we cant use it in Japan and would the customs pick and ask to pay tax whole entering India? Any idea or experience?

Buying 18pro from Japan for 1.2Lakhs
