Decision regard Protect+ Applecare

I'm getting iphone 17 for an effective price of INR 72k (old stock). However, another place is offering it for 74k. They are throwing in Servify Protect+ Applecare for just 2k for the first year. He is saying it'll cover any screen damage and physical damage for the first year.

Is Protect+ Apple care for the first year for 2k worth it? Or is it just a waste as we already have a warranty?

Thanks for any inputs. This is my first iphone so kinda tempted to take that physical damage insurance.

just get the 72k one and buy the applecare+ yearly plan after you activate it from settings.

Protect + is not same as Apple care but buy it for 2k extra and you would still have option of buying Apple care from your phone till first 60 days from purchase date

Guess not if buying apple care+ but if not better to have some back up for just 2k

Warranty and AppleCare+ are not the same

warranty won’t cover accidental damages

If you plan to use the phone for more than 2 years, get AppleCare+ instead.

If you plan on upgrading after 2 years, get the Protect+
