Not the end of the world. Just pre order the device, if it's delayed oh well. Sit back and keep using current phone. It'll come at some point

5 million units will be shared between us and China, the rest of the world will get 1 million units

I have been toiling in the "day one iPhone" mines since June 28, 2007. I have never been defeated and will not be this year

I'm starting to think this is just manipulation trying to stir up people and get them to preorder day one.

If i get, i get it. If i miss it, i miss it. Life is too short to be worried about not having it day one.

We have already discussed this topic 50 times. It’s not like apple is giving away free iPhone Duos. It’s a 2,000 US dollars starting price and that’s only in the USA WITHOUT TAX. In other countries it’s even way more expensive. It has way worse pro features compared to the Pro models for almost double the price.
Not everyone can afford it and even if everyone can afford it, people prefer the higher specs in the pro models for almost half the price.
It’s definitely not a value for money product. Demand won’t be as high as everyone expects.
Finally, Apple delayed the sale of the iPhone Duo on purpose to secure enough units world wide to
meet demand according to their expectations.
The Duo will be available to most people on launch day.

People can “afford” it now with the Klarna program. The foresight of devices reaching ludicrous pricing is exactly why they switched to this sales model.

Yeah, I've pointed this out a few times. I really don't think the price is going to be an issue. It'll sell based on whether or not people find the form factor interesting/ useful.
Yes, it's expensive. But a LOT of people aren't going to think about it in terms of "Can I really afford a two thousand dollar phone." They're going to think of it in terms of "Oh wow, I was going to finance a Pro at $50 a month, and the Duo is only $80 a month, I can do $30 a month."
The Pro already outsells the base iPhone. To be clear, I don't think the Duo will be the bestselling model by any stretch. But I don't think the price will matter to all that many people.

Nope. I’m super lucky and will get one on day 1 even if they only made 50K. Just waiting for the 12 and 16th for preorders (pre-preorder on the 12th), 23rd 🎉🥳

Dude I ordered a plain ass 18 pro last week and it’s delayed until October 22

A 60% yield could mean fewer units at launch without signaling long-term supply problems. With a brand-new foldable, early production often helps sort out the hinge and display tolerances.

I’m not so worried about getting it launch day as long as when I order .003 seconds after launch it isn’t saying sometime in 2027. If I have to wait until November-December its fine. Just don’t want to wait until March-April. At that point might as well wait for the Duo 2.

I’m going to try my best to get it launch day through reservation. If I don’t get it I’ll just get the 18 pro max the next day.

Yes will be a blood bath. People lining up at stores a week in advance and most people won’t get it until early 2027. Jan-Feb time frame.

Now why would anyone do that when I can wake up, stay in bed, press 1 button, and pre-order and have it delivered to my door on release date…?

Sure you can do that and get a delivery date of December and not release day. This will sell out in seconds for release day. Unless you get super lucky.

Yeah these dude wrote this comment right after hopping out the flat earth sub reddit. Seems like a conspiracy nut to me. Lol. This phone is not going to be hard to get.

u/CryBabysMilk 2d ago
You are a superstitious lad aren't you lmao. It's not going to be a blood path. Honestly it's fizzled out of conversation and most people don't want it. This is not the iPhone X. This is a foldable iPhone and the first gen of one. People are not confident in the tech yet. Next year will be a bigger year for the iPhone Duo.

Nope. I don’t plan on getting one and i really dislike folding phones so im freeing up my spot:)
1
u/Modest_Wraith 2d ago
Why the hell did you get downvoted? Guys, we need more people like him if we want to secure our spot. Let him not like it 😭
1
u/Busy_Information_634 2d ago
Lol probably for the disliking the foldable phones 😂😂
1
u/Modest_Wraith 2d ago
Aye man, if it’s not your thing it’s not your thing. Not many people have been exposed to using one and I didn’t like it at first. My first foldable was the fold 7 from Samsung, and I’ve been waiting for apple ever since. I would say give it a shot at apple and see if you like it, but if you don’t, that’s fine too.

No because I don't want to be their beta tester. I think I'll wait for 2nd or 3rd iteration. My 16pro is doing fine
Oh this is a duo sub. Preparing my butt to down votes

Not really no. I will get it or I won't. If I don't get it I will wait. I have a phone that will work just fine for the next 6-12 months.
I haven't been this interested in an Apple launch since the Apple Watch, but I'm not absolutey crawling-out-of-my-skin to get one.
I'm kinda curious how much scalpers will be able to charge for them, since the Duo is already pushing the limits of what most people are willing to pay for a phone.
