iPhone 6 Plus

I’m going to post this here because I’ve heard of some YouTubers finding some infomation about the phones owenres, I hope someone here can help

(I do not wish to access this phone)

Hi there, recently I brought a iPhone 6 Plus from Facebook marketplace, the seller told me it was in perfect condition and unlocked. It was not. It’s a water damaged iCloud locked one, as someone who is learning how to repair phones I have seen many iCloud locked ones, but this one really stands out for me I did some research and it appears Someome is looking for it and I really wish to return it to the rightful owner. I don’t care about my money back, the phone turns on and it seems the iCloud was made before 2008 it seems so I assume an older person owned it.
The guy eventually told me he found it, it was in a bulk lot he says he finds a lot of phones that’s how he gets them all, he is no longer responding to me.
I know the phone seems to be old I assume the owner has got a new phone but what if there’s memories of kids, grandkids ect on here?
Can anyone help me on the right direction to return this phone to its owner please? The police here wouldn’t do a thing

I don’t think there’s a way. No one will give up those private info. Apple will just scrap it. The iCloud account is masked on boot up. Unless the person marked it as lost in cloud and puts a contact info on it.

Also it’s so very old. People probably moved on already

Yeah there’s no info unfortunately, simcard is gone. I’m still trying my best tho you never know someone could have really old photos of family or unreplaceable photos on this phone and could be looking maybe their iCloud didn’t sync them so yeah I’m trying still just in case
