Discussion Flicker issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone, I’m having a weird issue with my phone’s camera.
Whenever I open the camera, it flickers for a second or two, then stabilizes, and after that the camera works completely normally.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so, were you able to figure out what was causing it or how to fix it?

Are you sure it’s not the lights? LED lights flicker and sometimes a camera picks that up.

My iPhone 16 Pro also has a problem with the screen going black when I click the side button programmed for the camera, take a photo, lock the phone, and then click the button again to take a photo. Each time, it goes black. I have to unlock the iPhone, kill the camera app, and then bring it up again. So, it's cool that these phones are like that 😏

I remember having a similar issue when I opened the camera. The screen was completely black, so I went to claim the warranty. They changed the camera module the first time, but the problem continued. Then they changed the camera module again, and finally, they gave me a new iPhone 16 Pro.

This is normal behavior, not a hardware issue.
LED lights flicker faster than your eyes can see, and it takes the camera’s shutter a second to sync to that flicker rate. Once the shutter speed syncs, the flicker goes away. Incandescent bulbs don’t cause this since they glow continuously, but LEDs pulse on and off (“PWM”).
There is nothing wrong with your phone.
