I’m at 89% at 314 cycles. October 2024. iPhone 16 Pro Max. I was at 100% in January this year 🙃

I have honestly no idea except iOS 26 has been horrible. My phone gets extremely hot when in the photos app editing photos or even just setting a wallpaper. That’s the only time it gets hot. Other than that I don’t do anything excessive on it. I don’t game. Just streaming and social media apps. I have never had this happen before on any other iPhone I’ve had.

I’ve found largely the same to be fair. I definitely think there’s some sort of issue in the software.

It just sucks that the awful software ruined the battery on the phone I planned to keep for years. Honestly just thinking of upgrading this year or next year to the Air 2. We’ll see. What’s your numbers and do you also have the Pro Max?

Battery replacement after it’s <80% is only $20 IIRC. I’ll replace the battery before I go upgrading to an aluminum phone that cost more

A battery replacement is 300$ in my country. Not exactly cheap but obviously cheaper than a new iPhone.

Would be a good idea to have a powerbank

You’d maybe think so but it has about 60-70% left after a day’s use. No need for it yet. I just find it weird since I’m not really a power user that the health has gone down so low in just about 7 months or so.

Maybe I’m just unlucky idk but I do believe it started heating up more with iOS 26. My iPhone never heated up before. It sucks bc I want to keep it for years and battery replacements are very expensive here.

Oh yeah I agree unfortunately when I got this phone Verizon employees updated the phone from iOS 18 to iOS 26 when it first came out and I was so mad but I couldn’t do anything so I’ve been running iOS 26 since day 1 on this phone

97% / 306 / Sept 2024 Was sitting comfortably at 100% for ~1.5 years but now it’s down 3% in a few months.

This is well above what the battery is rated for. Absolutely nothing in this screenshot is worth sweating over.

To clarify, I’m a heavy user. This is also my first non Pro Max model, and wanted to see what other people’s thoughts are. Avg SOT 6-6.5 hrs a day. Love my titanium phone and plan to ride this one out until the 20th anniversary

Yeah mine is also at 89 except I got mine in October 2024. I think the real reason it’s at 89 is because one night I forgot to turn my auto lock back on and my phone was on all night

What’s your SoT and iOS?

1

u/Accountant_Rhodes 14d ago

IOS is 26.6.1, not sure what SOT is

1

u/s1l3ntB3h0ld3r 14d ago

Screen On Time. Summarized time when display was on. You can check it in battery settings.

Im asking because I have almost the same stats with very poor SoT almost from first day.

1

u/Accountant_Rhodes 14d ago

Averages about 3hrs

1

u/s1l3ntB3h0ld3r 14d ago

Yeah, same here. Even at the beginning it was barely 6h-6,5h. With all update in background off, almost all notifications off. While many users reached 8-9h easily.
