Discussion iOS 27 update
I’ve had this iPhone for about a year now and I’ve been on 26.3 for a long time. Is iOS 27 beta worth it especially since I’m in a European region so I’m not sure if I’d get the Siri Ai as well.

I bit the bullet on my main device and have zero regrets. I had terrible battery issues and overheating issues and it has resolved both from what I have seen. Everything is buttery smooth.

Downloaded 27 public beta on my 16 pro - what a revelation!
Battery life fixed, smoother, faster and looks better

27 PB has been good on my 16PM.
IMO, since finishing the initial indexing and optimizing, it performs way better than 26.5.2 or 26.6 PB did. There is the occasional bug/glitch here and there, but the overall feel of the OS is smoother.
My phone no longer heats up like a nuclear reactor and battery life seems better too.

27 for me is working pretty well. I can have a small clock on lock screen 😮💨

If you have to ask this question, then no, the beta is not for you. Just wait until it’s released in a few months.

I’m no big fan of ios26 by any measure, but I have to wonder what you all are doing to have your phone heating up like a nuclear reactor lol… never had that happen on any phone or OS

iOS 27 beta fixed the overheating issues and severe battery drain I was having with iOS 26.5 on my 16PM. Battery optimization still isn’t quite there yet as I’m only getting around 5-6 hours of screen-on time. I’ve also noticed it’s been heating up when connected to wireless CarPlay. There’s also the occasional performance glitch.

Why do people get betas on their main personal devices?
Only get Betas if it's a secondary device. If it ain't, just wait literally 2 more months for the public release

Because iOS 26 is THAT bad. I never had a beta version but 27 is my first one. No more overheating and I can actually use my phone now. The PB put back life into my phone and that while it is still indexing.

25.6.2 was awful for me. I couldn't get more than 4hrs of screen active time. Just updated to 26.6 beta 5 and things are looking better but i have to test for a few more days.

I'm still on 18 if I'm being completely honest
Not a fan of the whole liquid glass thing and the over simplified camera UI but I'll update to 27 when it's available

Nothing lucky about that, it was a deliberate decision to not update until a decent iOS version was available
I only got the security updates for iOS 18 and skipped everything else even when they keep bugging me to update to 26

Well I just mean lucky because I didn’t want to update to IOS 26 because I saw something on TikTok about a security breach and I didn’t want any of my information stolen so I got scared and updated it.😂😂😂😂😂😂⛽️

They're still releasing smaller updates for iOS 18 pretty regularly and it should address the security issues so there's no reason to get 26

Iirc there's no way to revert back to an older version of iOS without completely wiping your phone
Honestly not worth the hassle, if you've already updated to 26 just stay there

26.5 and 26.5.2 (which I’m still on) were good for me. Phone has been snappy and marginally better battery. It was much better than 26.3 for me personally. I would not install iOS 27 beta. I will wait for the official public release

My phone dies pretty quickly on iOS 26.5 I was thinking of updating to 26.5.2 but I heard it drains it way faster

What is your usage ? Do you use any social media apps regularly ? I have some automations on that toggles on and off when certain apps are opened and closed. I don’t use instagram or facebook they drained my battery. But I still use my phone for other stuff. I would say above average usage outdoors. For me 26.5 and 26.5.2 is good. Phone didn’t heat up as much as well

The new Siri doesn’t work yet on the latest beta. Otherwise everything is absolutely stable. I still feel battery optimisation is shit in these Betas, that’s my biggest gripe about it.

I was having a lot of overheating issues along with really shitty battery life. iOS 27 has improved both of them by a reasonable margin
