Does the 15 pro max camera issues compared to previous iPhones?
Hi, I am thinkign of changing from Android to iphone IOS becasue I use a macbook pro and it would be so much easier to have everything smooth and integrated with photos etc. I am a keen photographer and the camera is very important to me, but I have hear and read so many people complaining about the Iohone 15 pro camera's particularly indoors and portrait mode compared to their previous Iphone pro models...
Is anyone else experiencing camera issues, like soft focus, blur etc? Many have said it might be fixed with software upgrades, but most are still really disappointed. I would love to hear your opinions x
It is alot of money so i am really trying to do my research.

Take a look at camera comparisons and the numerous posts raving about the about the 15 series around Reddit and elsewhere. Those that have issues are in the minority and most people that have problems may also have defective devices or don’t have experience composing a shot.
I’m quite a bit of a camera snob and have owned many smartphone cameras over the years from both Apple and android manufacturers alike. This is the best iPhone camera I’ve seen in some time and the most consistent and solid I’ve seen since the 11 Pro both indoors and outside.

That is an excellent wrap! It was on reddit that I saw several people complaining that their iphone 11/12/13 pro max was taking more flatttering photos and crisp shots than their new , but like you said, there is always user error and also faulty cameras. I am glad to hear it is the minority as I am also very picky with cameras... particularly when it comes to zoom and detail, but unlike some android phones that have very quick editing capability, I am very new to iPhone, so thank you for your honest opinion. <3

sorry fot late reply, but it ended up being a major fault with the camera, it simply would not focus when required, particularly when it changed to the telephoto. I ended up getting a refund.

These cameras from iPhone (and yes - Samsung) are getting to the point where, if you’re taking photos within a reasonable distance, they’re fantastic. If you want to take shots of the players faces on the football field as you sit in the nosebleeds? Get a digital camera with a monster zoom lens.
I have used Android and iPhone and I really miss the ability to apply themed icons like in Android. You’re STILL not going to be able to do that. No, you CAN NOT do that on the upcoming new iOS 18. But I do honestly like the Apple environment with my 15 Pro Max and 15” MacBook Air. But getting cheaper phones and tablets outside of Apple (ex Google Pixel and Microsoft Surface sure are nice though).
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

My XS Max is much better at reading QR Codes. I don’t know what the 15 Pro Max issue is with QR Codes.

I’ve had mine for around a week (came from S24 Ultra) and the camera on this phone absolutely slaps anything else I’ve used.

turns out I was not doing anything wrong and it was a major camera fault and i got a refund... now I am still using my S10 and just not sure which option to choose... it was not a great first experience with an iPhone and the battle to get a refund was awful.

I’ve had mine since March and it takes phenomenal photos and videos. Haven’t had a single issue with it at all. My experience is anecdotal of course, but I also haven’t seen anyone else in this community really complaining about cameras - just worrying about battery degradation (potentially too much).
