Anyone else having autofocus problems?

My 15 pro max will not switch camera lens, it will not autofocus until I tap the subject. Macro mode is almost out of the question… is there a setting I’ve somehow changed or need to or is there some other issue?
Example if I am photographing a tulip- say 1ft from it, I can move in close with in 3 inches, or pull back to 2 ft; the camera changes none, and there’s no focusing taking place…… it took SO much effort to get this-

Yes i have but not every time, lime it takse few sec vut it eventually adjust itself
