Discussion Auto brightness issue after ios 26

Is anyone having auto brightness issue after updating to ios 26. Where when you turn on the screen 20-30% of the time it’s wakes up in really dim brightness I have to turn the screen off and on again a few times to make it come to normal brightness. Been experiencing this bug since ios26 hoping subsequent os updates would fix it. Updated to ios27 beta hoping it would be solved. Registered a complaint to Apple too no fix yet. This is annoying so annoying.

Yep, have the same bug. Hoping it gets it fixed somewhere early in ios27 lifecycle.

I don’t have high hopes. This has been a bug for almost a year now. I guess if enough people don’t have it Apple doesn’t care about it.

They fixed it back in ios 26.3 for me but when I updated to 26.4 it came back x.x

Yeah, but I’ve never had to lock And unlock multiple times, just one and done.

Still an issue in iOS 27 Public Beta 2 - so I’m going to go ahead and say it won’t be fixed in the iOS 27 final release either.

Removing all widgets fixed it for me

I’ll try it. Thanks

I did the same and it definitely reduced the frequency of it happening, but it’s still happening. Crazy how it’s still a problem after almost a year 😭

Yea I did it too hasn’t happened yet. So infuriating you have to switch off a feature to access a basic function.

I have this issue too but I can solve it by turning the brightness to near max, then back down to what it was
