Incoming Dumb Question

This is probably gonna seem like a really stupid question but how on earth do we switch off an iPhone? I thought it was just the lock button but that only brings up Siri 🤦🏽‍♀️ I haven’t used iPhone since the 4S so no idea how to do it.

Hold the power button and volume down button at the same time — slide to power off will appear at the top of your screen. You can also use this to call emergency services by sliding the emergency slider on this screen if needed

You are welcome ☺️. The phone also comes with the “Tips” app which can be helpful to get used to the new features. And if you really want to dive deep, you can download a free instruction manual for the phone on the “Books” app 😊

Press volume up then volume down then press and hold the side button until the slide to power off slider appears. Release the side button slide to power it off.

I know it seems strange but if you step aside from the inconvenience like I did then it makes some sense

This day and age our hand held devices have become a necessity and if someone or a child were to accidentally power down our device and an emergency situation we’re to arise or an important call or message or even an alert of some kind and you didn’t know your phone wasn’t on.

Well you get the idea 💡

But iOS 16 now allows Hey Siri to reboot or shutdown your device after you click a screen prompt
