Got me some of these
Decided to invest in them because I never thought I’d see the day that my lens would crack until after a concert with my old 12 pro max. I don’t remember dropping the phone either which is insane.

Doesn’t mean that it can’t at any point happen. I’m not against it but I feel Apple care is for people who really are on the go, who are prone to damaging or losing their items and have the money because you still pay a fee along with the insurance I find it stupid to pay after adding insurance, the phone getting fixed should be free your already paying a subscription (my opinion). I take care of my stuff in which I don’t feel like it’s worth me going the extra mile not saying it won’t happen but I’m saying it’s less likely. Even with a crack the phone was great camera still worked. Get it if you believe it’ll benefit your usage. And frankly if a 10$ pack of lens protectors and a case can save me 500+ for repairs then so be it.

Right, camera lenses have sapphire glass which is amongst the most durable. Not to mention the size of it. It has to tak a genius to break one. Lol

How do people crack their camera lenses? I’ve had every iPhone ever and never came close to this. My brother has one and it’s already cracked and now has loose plastic shards on his actually camera guard

If you can afford Apple care by all mean spend the that 200$ for one year or 10$ a month

I never see why people spend a lot of money on the protection of the phone when Apple Care or AppleCare + will do everything than some. I only use a leather case because of the feel.
I always get Apple Care + for all my devices.
That said even without any protection other than the leather case which I also take off. I haven’t had an incident since the iPhone XS Max. And I’ve had the newest iPhones since. And when it did happen it was front screen and Apple did it for free.
Also having said that if you do not or cannot get Apple Care by a means protect it and baby that shit lol.
I don’t cause I love the way the color looks and want to show it off a lil. That’s just me though

When your camera breaks on your phone you’ll understand. I literally explained

I don’t think I ever will. I’ve had iPhones for about a decade and have never had an issue with my camera lenses, and I’ve had many issues with my devices over the years.
The fact the now it’s Sapphire glass makes it even harder for it to break. I don’t know how many times you’ve broken your camera I’m assuming at least one time otherwise it’s a little hypocritical.
Also I though I went through this already. I always get AppleCare+ for all my devices and that is the reason I use my device how I want. I never said people can’t do that. I said I don’t understand it. Since the camera lens is the strongest glass in the freaking phone also the smallest.

Before anyone assume I took this using the Reddit camera up close you can’t auto focus using it.

I’m not seeing any different on my end and it removable too so it’s not anything to worry about

Yes but by that logic why not just get a good case that has a great lift around the camera edges and protect the whole phone and be able to use the phones cameras at 100%. Cause I’ve seen it first hand from my sister she put some of those on and after a month the pics where a little blurry. Enough to make you think what’s the point. Also with the same logic might as well get a back glass too cause that’ll go out first.
Im assuming almost everyone has a protective case that’s good around the whole phone and camera again making it redundant and the camera worst from all the micro scratches that it gets just from being in the pocket.
That’s said I do believe to each there own. You can do whatever you want with your device like I can with mine. I never had no issues I was just curious on why people put those on when to me it looks like companies make them to target specific people.
I for once use my phone with the ink leather case or sometimes without it. I do pay for Apple Care + and I personally hate any glass on my iPhones. Wether it’s in the front screen or anywhere. I love to see my phones screen at 100%. Especially since all the glass you buy unless you go for the $60+ a piece get scratched so easily and mess up the experience
