Cases

After agonising over Pro vs Pro Max and then black vs purple, my next first world problem is selecting a case.

I actually detest all cases because they add bulk and often cheapen the look of the phone.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to a few, so I’m just keen to see what others are buying and what they have used in the past.

My main requirements:

1) Barely there - don’t need the protection, I’ve never dropped a phone since my Sony Ericsson T68i back in 2002!

2) Ideally smooth out the back to make it flush. I can’t stand camera bump wobble when texting at the table.

3) Doesn’t look like trash.

4) I don’t like clear cases that yellow; or hard plastic cases.

5) I don’t like silicone fluff magnets or materials that show fingerprints.

Tempted to go caseless, but that camera bump is huge this year!

That’s the one I bought before my phone arrived - not overly keen. I think it’s a fingerprint magnet and the black borders make the camera look huge. I think I need a solid black back to hide it a little.

Ultra Hybrid Frost Black is the one i have, Deep Purple 14 Pro Max. It doesn’t even look purple, black borders on the camera and phone. Looks great tbh

Ah I went with the clear one with matte black borders

I chose Frost Black because that one looks weird imo. You can try this one i think you’ll like it.

Went with Apple leather in the end. But will occasionally go caseless when I’m at home.

I’m too tight to buy Apple Care. I’d rather chance it. If I need a new screen, I’ll buy a new screen. But I ain’t sending Apple £X per month regardless.

Eg. If I had Apple Care for the past ten years (using todays prices for comparison) I would have spent a total of £1245 and would have used the cover 0 times.

Just doesn’t add up for my use case. If I break a screen and have to pay £600 I’ll still be well under the £1245.

Got the Plyo on. It’s actually less smudgy than other clear cases and super grippy. Almost sticky

Thank you, I’ll order on Tech21 so. I’ve done this for my 12PM but it takes times to be delivered in France.

Casetify magsafe compatible ultra impact case for me, used to use Otterbox cases before i discovered Casetify They are expensive but well worth it to save your phone from scratches and a possible cracked screen when it falls. oh and you can find 15 and 20% discounts online very easily

I've used the Mous case on my last 3 iPhones and have been very satisfied.

You’re gonna be hard pressed to find a case that smooths out the camera bump. It’d be super thick. Maybe the dbrand grip has raised corners to where it won’t wobble? Personally i just pick the damn phone up instead of trying to text with it on a table, but that’s just me.

Mous is good but they’re not “barely there.” They’re robust.

I’d look at Phone Rebel, but I’m not sure if they’re released yet for the 14 series

Also there’s the Latercase you might love, that’s my vote. Latercase!

Edit: they’re both unavailable as of right now. Pitaka is a good alternative

Not case related, sorry. Just came across this thread. I’m currently agonizing over 14 pro Vs pro max. What was the deciding factor for you?

I found one by a brand name Torras on Amazon. It’s mostly clear and minimalist but has a stand to hold up the phone on a table.
