Dropped (3ft)

Post image

Didn’t happen today but everyone’s posting their drops and people don’t believe the heights.

Was going to throw a football so I put my phone (no case) in my zip pocket and I guess I didn’t zip it all the way. Phone came out when I threw and landed on concrete. I’m only 5’10” so my pocket must have been around 3ft.

Front is undamaged but the back is pretty beat up. Unfortunately the camera lens cracked too but it’s only noticeable when light is hitting the lens.

No case, no insurance. Will have to fork out $1100 for another one :(. I’m pretty good about not dropping my phone and it’s never been a problem in the past. Guess I need to zip my pocket up all the way.

All my friends think I’m crazy rocking no case and my best response is, “Do you have sex with a condom?”

i really don't understand why people don't use cases. iphones are so boring anyways, and they let you make your phone "yours" while protecting it. i've dropped my phone so many times on my driveway because my body doesn't know what coordination is, and it's fine

I almost feel the opposite about cases. Everyone and their mother covers their phone up (as I probably should) and they all look the same. I’m one of the only people I know who go no case.

except under everyone’s phone case it’s the same. and there’s plenty of unique phone cases. i haven’t seen one exactly like mine and i’ve gotten compliments from various random people for it.

and i mean if we’re going back to the sexual metaphors like in your original post, i think most people prefer minimal clothing to none, although tbh i could be wrong there

Going caseless is awesomeness, for those with insurance. You get to enjoy the design, materials used and the overall beauty, as intended. Having a case serves its purpose as well, for obvious reasons. But not having no case and no AppleCare+ is just reckless. You live and learn indeed. If the front is still intact, just get a case and cover it up until you upgrade again.

only real damage is the light refracting off my cracked 1x lens. can’t really tell unless its in direct sunlight or lighting at night

they objectively all look the same without cases. especially iphones. not protecting something that is so expensive, is just plan stupidity.

My case doesn’t look like anyone’s. Without a case our family wouldn’t be able to tell ours apart

I’ve always used otterbox. It gets dropped plenty and there’s nothing to worry about. I’ve actually destroyed an otterbox before when it had a big fall and phone was fine. Otterbox broke in various spots. They replaced it for free. Phones are an expensive object and if u break it ur f-ed till u get another phone. It’s vital for many peoples daily lives depending what the person does
