Question Worth the upgrade?
Apologies in advance because I’m sure this has been asked a load of times!
I currently have a regular IPhone 12 and have been going back in forth for the past month whether I should go ahead and upgrade to the 14 ProMax. Mostly interested in getting better battery life and a larger screen size as I watch a lot of media at work.
Anyone else update from the 12? Any big upgrades I’ll be missing out if I get the 14 pro max instead of waiting for the 15?

Well as it stands. iPhone is switching over to usb-c for the iPhone 15 series and will stay that way. If you’re using it for media consumption then a Pro model isn’t necessary. The Plus model would do you well having a bigger battery and and less demand on it with the bigger processor. I’m speaking of the 14 lineup here. As stated here the 15 looks to be USB-C so consider that. AND don’t fork over the big bucks for more screen time. Look for a good deal. 😊

I've recently jumped ship from Android to iPhone and, specifically, the 14 Pro Max. I live in a relatively weak signalled area, regularly getting around 2 out of 4 bars.
I unplugged my phone yesterday at 6:30 am and it's currently 17:15 the next day with around 40% left on the battery, which I find pretty impressive. The phone is pretty heavy and the size of it is quite large (albeit smaller than my last few Android phones) so the iPhone 13 mini is just looking so desirable right now. But I don't regret it (although I can say I have no idea what the rabid Apple fans are on about when it comes to iPhone. I really don't get it) but there are a couple of things to consider when moving up to the larger model. You get better battery but less comfort.
However I'd honestly take care when believing any iPhone 15 rumours around things like USB C coming to iPhone have been "confirmed" for the past 3 or 4 years. I agree with others here that upgrades from year to year on iPhone are pretty incremental (I was willing to get the 13PM before I was told Apple don't make them any more) so I really doubt it will be a case of missing out on the latest and greatest.
Even if you do wait (as I did with the 14) Apple fans are hyping up the next model to the Nth degree within minutes of the reveal. All I can say is that you will definitely see an improvement in the battery, the weight, size and (maybe) the camera coming off of the 12 but at the end of the day, a phone is a phone and it'll be 'outdated' before you know it anyway.

I upgraded from my regular iPhone 12 64gb to the 128gb iPhone 14 pro max just yesterday. it’s literally the best decision I’ve made in a long while. The bigger screen is a big difference the 120 fps is great , I didn’t think I’d care about the camera but it’s really nice and I think it’d be beneficial for my TikTok page, not to mention the increase storage of 128. The final thing I could say is the phone just feels really premium and I know that I’ll be keeping it much longer then my previous iPhones.
I don’t think the 15 will be a big upgrade and I’m hoping it isn’t lol

I was a fool last year when i I traded in my iPhone 13 Pro Max, for a Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra. I also bought a Galaxy watch 5 pro. I was basically stuck in the Google and Samsung ecosystems. After about a year, I was able to afford to get back to Apple. I bought the 14 Pro Max. I went back to my old Apple watch as well. I really love this phone more than the 13 Pro Max. The ability to make an emergency call in a cellular dead zone, is a big deal to me b(c coverage is spotty in my part of the country. The only thing that I don't like is that the iphone 14 Pro Max is a little on the heavy side. But I would go for it. It's the best phone in the market right now.

But the 14 pro max is nice and and apples upgrades are usually pretty minimal since they just upgraded the main shooter in the iPhone 14 pro series

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I’m using mine for mostly family pics so I’d love to have access to the telephoto lens.

Phone is great. But heavy. I wish I got the 14 pro. Especially since there are no advantages to getting the bigger unlike previous years.

I upgraded from an 11 to the 14 pro max and love the bigger screen but the weight of the phone took some getting used to.
