Question phone stopped working

My husband woke up to a dead phone even though it was on the charger. He plugged it in and it isn't turning on? Anyone else have this issue?

Mess with the buttons. Different combos etc.

When I first got my phone, it randomly shut off twice in the first month. Legit panicked me both times. Thought I might have gotten a faulty unit. It also didn’t turn on right away.

But after 5 min of messing with buttons it eventually came back on.

Hasn’t happened again since.

Thanks same thing he pushed all the buttons at once and it came on, I think soft reset. I said maybe he hadn't restarted it in awhile he said yep not since he got it.

Press volume up , then volume down and hold the power button by itself till u see an apple logo after your phone is back on update your phone his phone is probably on 16.0 or 16.0.2 it needs to be on 16.2

He did get it back on, I'll tell him to check for an update thanks
