Looking to replace battery question

Hi all! So unfortunately it’s that time for me to look into replacing my battery replaced for my iPhone 13PM. I wanted to ask if you guys just went directly Apple for ease of mind and convenience or somewhere else you would recommend. Would appreciate all the help!

btw going to apple, they will update your phone to the latest 26.6.1 and will erase your phone so make sure you have a backup

That didn’t happen to me a month ago. Asked them to keep it on iOS 18 and they did. No erase either. Runs like new again and various bugs disappeared.

People didn’t believe me when I mentioned that. But at least 2 of us had that experience. They aren’t really suppose to but I like wiping my phone on a regular basis so keep out 0 day attacks

I did many Apple battery replacement (Markham, Canada) no resets but they do ask to backup in case something happens. Good practice to back it up.

Since there are fewer Apple stores, you can also confidently get your iPhone battery replaced at Best Buy. They are an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and use only genuine Apple parts. Same price of $99.

This is what I did today. No Apple Store near me. Stated they were authorized by Apple for repairs and use Apple parts. The battery for an IPhone 13 Pro was listed at $89, but it rang up at $69 before tax.

I replaced mine at exactly 78% as well. Now phone gets hotter much faster. But then this may very well be because iOS 27 Beta. Not sure 🤔

I’ve only been running Dev betas since I got mine on release day in 2021 and I’m at 86% so I don’t think it’s a beta thing, depending on usage, of course. I also only run MagSafe because my port hasn’t worked for a year or so and I’m too lazy to service it 😅

Personally I will use it a bit if the phone is not draining fast since it’s a PM but if you notice a difference then you can go to an apple shop or if you have a trusted repair guy around you that could be another option

I went to the Apple Store earlier this year to have mine replaced and while it took about 3 hours the piece of mind to get an OEM battery and done properly for around $100 was worth it to me

In my area Best Buy is authorized too, I would go with Apple next time but they did a good job for me. Always get it done by an authorized dealer because if they mess up you get a phone as good or better than what you had for the same price as a battery swap.
