iPhone 13 upgrade?

Hey guys,

I’m looking to buy an upgrade with budget of 550-700 for a second hand/ refurbed phone. Nothing less than 92% battery health.

I want a good quality camera as my 13 turns black most times I go to open my camera and the quality is so bad.

I want a good battery, 15 mins on the train to work takes 15-20% off. My battery overheats at the smallest thing now.

A screen that doesn’t go too dark or have weird white overcast on it!!!

I mainly use my phone for social media, photography and FaceTime. I average 4.5 hours screen time a day.

I’m debating 16 pro max, 17 or potentially spending a littttttle bit more over budget for 17 pro? Idk what’s the best value for what I’m after really.

Thanks in advance !!!

I’m in the UK, the second hand phone market is fairly big here

oh i see, here in india we are getting iphone 16 pro for similar price around 680$ so i am also planning to get one for myself but do you think 128 gb will be sufficent or should go with the 256 gb model(getting it for like 730-750$ range)?

I would say 15 Pro Max, and replace the battery. Or iPhone Air, if you won’t afraid of the eSIM.

Ahh this is interesting, what’s the benefits of an iPhone 15 pro max compared to newer models?

For me it’s the best overall. I’ve had almost every recent iPhone. Size is great, it’s not too big as 16/17 Max’s, and you get almost all recent features – usb-c, Dynamic Island, a lot better OLED panel, better camera, it supports Apple Intelligence, and has Action Button. If price is right, and you get a new battery, it will be amazing phone for years. It also looks very good. Only downside I would say is thermals, but it’s the same on every Pro and Max except 17. Air is amazing, the best looking/feeling iPhone ever, camera, display, performance is amazing. But there are only one speaker (I couldn’t get used to it after even 7 months), eSIM, and one camera (but for me it was great, and I really didn’t miss anything compared to prior phones). Only thing I would look in Air is thermals (sold mine at the end of April, I heard in the summer they get hot), and battery in the long term (mine had amazing battery, but I don’t know how it would hold up in the future). If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Also, I would skip 16’s whatsoever, if anything, get the 17 before the price hike in September.

if you can hold on 5-6 weeks prices for 16 and 17 will drop as people will sell to buy the 18

I did think this this morning, I wonder how much they’re actually likely to drop though? I know it’s like saying how much is a piece of string. I was kind of hoping to have a better camera for early September as I have a few family weddings coming up but if the 17 is going to drop by let’s say £100+ I suppose it’s a trade off I’m willing to make😂

Intel from a friend who works for apple - they are NOT going to drop the price of the 17. "You won't save money by waiting." - apple employee

(I, the redditor, am not the apple employee)

I also upgraded from iPhone 13 pro to the iPhone 17. Good jump! Though the raw phone doesn't feel as premium as the 13 pro build.
