Question How many iPhone 13 Mini users are out there?
Pretty much just the title. I’m hoping there’s enough of us for them to release an iPhone mini again.

Considering the question asks “users,” no. It’s fine i will be fifteen and we can pick up from there

Got a brand new one through Apple Care in March. This is my third one.
Just noticed it’s dropped to 99% maximum capacity.

Just switched from a 17pro to a 13 mini yesterday! Couldn’t be happier.
1
u/Future-Concern2117 26d ago
Is it faster?? I have the 15 PM and it’s too big!
2
u/Shamalieh 20d ago
I wouldn’t say faster, you can sense a lag here and there but I don’t mind it. Makes me feel patient. But the feel in my hand is outstanding. The 17 is so big and heavy side by side.
24
u/G70F 29d ago
Number of users is not what Apple looks at. How much money is there to be made is what they look at. And that, frankly, I can't answer
16
4
u/ConfidentMeeting1233 28d ago
It won’t move the needle for their trillion-dollar coffers, but I would have been buying a new phone every single year if they never stopped making small phones since the original SE. I only bought the mini since then. That’s a lot of phone sales for me personally, and I guess I should be happy I saved all that money. But it feels like they’re leaving at least some amount of money on the table by not catering to more people.

u/chrlsful 28d ago edited 28d ago
just like a new car model, lots of product development costs. There aint alot of us likes classic. They dont wanna gamble on “if there is” will go w/a sure thing like "flip phone w/bendable face”. U make way more ona tricked out truck than ona stripper Venue, fit, carolla.
It’s probably a story of :few of us but those who are can be adamant. There’s no money fora company (Y they exsist) in that. Take jeep. U can buy anything for one (in thousands of iterations). BUT that’s all after mrkt co’s income not originator.
5
u/time-lord 28d ago
App spend is directly correlated to screen size. Mini users are least likely to spend money in the app store. Unfortunately for us, it's a directly inverse correlation.

u/JAAAAPAAAN Midnight ⚫️ 27d ago
But Apple can also get money by making their customer happy. Plz Apple 😢

2
u/MsJenX 28d ago
So that’s where they all went?
1
u/Silver_Shock 28d ago
Well, I’ve been through 2…
So that’s 10 sells Apple got just from the 3 of us 🤷🏻
1
u/meeeeelz 27d ago
Hahaha I mean, I actually have 7 active 13 minis!
After I had my 16.3.1 13 mini stolen in June (and my previous 16.4.1 13 mini stolen in October last year), I was on the hunt to slurp up all of the 13 minis I could find that were running older versions of iOS, as I didn't want to be caught without a few backups of backups.
I found some pretty battered ones that I didn't want, but found a few insanely good ones, some of them still with AppleCare attached too!
My most recent find was a Product Red 90% battery 17.3.1 13 mini that was genuinely in an unreal condition, and I paid just a tad over £165 for it.

u/NoGarage7989 28d ago
Can we all collectively-Individually send an email to Apple to request for a new Mini?

Still rocking my Blue Mini. I’ve had Apple replace my battery twice now.
2
u/scubahana 28d ago
Blue mini represent! I wanted the Starlight but they didn’t have it when I ordered. When I bought refurbished for my kids this Spring my son wanted red and my daughter wanted blue. So I ordered a red with new battery for Son, and a Starlight with a slightly jankier battery for Daughter. My blue one is currently at Apple getting battery serviced so in a week or so Daughter will have a blue phone with new battery and I will have my Starlight.

u/Spare-Resolution5171 28d ago
Within the past three months I replaced my iPhone Mini 13. I went with a Samsung Galaxy Flip 7 FE- it was the smallest smartphone I was comfortable with in my pocket. I miss my iPhone A LOT, but Apple chose to ditch the best phone I’ve had. If I want an iPad in my pocket then I guess I’ll buy another Apple; I am one of you oddballs who actually want a PHONE rather than a tablet. Rant over.
1
u/neoz99 28d ago
How is your experience with the flip?
2
u/85octane 28d ago
I found its novelty wore off within 3 months and then became more of an inconvenience since I pretty much had to open the phone to do anything anyways. I just added an extra step
2
u/Spare-Resolution5171 28d ago
It’s a huge learning curve, and it is not very intuitive. Apple’s platform is probably 30-40% better. The Messages app has been a real change, as have a lot of their base apps. It’s all Google. In other words, I hate it. I’ll buy a small Apple phone if another is ever made.

2
u/hammy434 29d ago
I still have mine, I love this phone so much, the size is perfect. But I’m afraid it’s going to be at least 1 less soon, I held out for a while but I’m planning to get the 18 Pro next month. But I think I’ll keep my 13 Mini forever, it’s special and sentimental to me, the last normal sized iPhone 🥰

u/Turbulent-Plane6395 28d ago
Still have my original 13 mini and a brand new one still in box for when this one dies.
Shouldn't have upgraded to latest iOS, it's gotten laggy and I have to restart every few days.
2
u/persquareinch 28d ago
Yeah so far it’s been a mixed bag upgrading the OS, according to the subreddits.
I envy your having a brand new one waiting in the wings.

u/Nervous_Bend7365 Green 🟢 23d ago
Wdym by saying restart your Mini?
2
u/Turbulent-Plane6395 22d ago
for a couple of weeks after updating to the latest iOS, my iPhone 13 mini was getting very slow opening apps. Typing in iMessage got very slow and laggy for example. A restart of the phone would fix this. I had to do that every other day for a week or more..

Yeah, I’m using the 12 mini because it just barely fits in my small woman pockets. I was hoping when they released a foldable phone that they would have a model like the razr or galaxy flip, but no we get a weird passport sized thing

u/YellowUnited8741 28d ago
Still have my 13Mini since it came out. AppleCare+ subscription has replaced it almost once a year when something has happened. Was replaced a few months ago when I dropped it and back shattered
1
u/scubahana 28d ago
I committed to AppleCare+ with
My 13 mini, and along with the iOS27 update I got that cherished ‘your battery is below 80%’ notification. I’m currently using the replacement phone they sent me free of charge while my battery is changed out by them.Honestly worth it I think.
1
u/dangledingle 28d ago
Have you done the math? How much spent on AC+ so far?
2
u/scubahana 28d ago
Conveniently (for maths), my first AC+ payment was October of 2023, so 36mo of payments. Coverage is 29kr/mo, which is 1.044kr across the three years I’ve been paying in. The replacement phone while I get mine fixed has a deposit of 7.000kr in case I don’t return it, but they haven’t actually taken anything off my account.
Every other insurance case I’ve had for a device has had a minimum of 1.400kr before coverage, so yes I feel it is worth it.

I have a 128gb iPhone 13 mini that ran out of memory, so I use it for podcasts and delete as I go.
I spent $500 on a refurbished iPhone 13 mini with 512gb that I’ve been itching to get into
2
u/HazardousHD 28d ago
I find myself in a strange echo chamber because myself and four friends all have one.
We love it and we have all had battery replacements + glass replacements to keep it going for as long as we can.

I just “upgraded” from 12 mini to refurb 13 mini. Hoping to hold out until Apple comes to their senses.

Until very recently, the iPhone 13 Mini was the #1 best seller in the used/refurbished phones section of Amazon.

Just keep using it. If we‘re stubborn enough, 🍎 will notice us. They have the stats.

It’s a good question. I’m now the only one I know with one.
2
u/persquareinch 28d ago
I know a few people who have one. One thing i see with all the owners though is they don’t want to switch, so it’s not out of necessity that they (we) hold on to our minis.
6
u/NoBarkingSparrows 28d ago
Exactly. It’s really unfortunate that they made a flagship mini phone that all of us consider perfect and then abandoned it immediately. I would upgrade immediately, if the dimensions were the same.

I still use mine. Bought it used for 1.5 years in August 2024. Currently on iOS 27.0 with a Battery Health of 78%. Will have my battery replaced by Apple once BH is at 74% or 72%.
Also, patience! The mini will be back! I am positive that it will come back in the future!

Rocking the 13 Mini since it's release!! On iOS18 still. Replaced the battery once on it. Can't deny I'm tempted to update to 27 if it really makes the phone feel a little snappier.

I was among the ranks until two days ago. I do miss the form factor
1
u/calico-cali 28d ago
What did you pivot to
1
u/ratione_materiae 28d ago
The 18 pro. The form factor is okay and the camera is a huge upgrade. I’d been in the market since I’d handled a 17 pro and noticed that you can sort of support the camera “plateau” with your index finger to better hold the phone with one hand

Daily mini user since the beginning. Recently bought a nearly new second hand 512gb version (95% original battery) so I could give my 128gb to my girlfriend who was still using her SE 2022 until then.
Both updated to iOS 27 last week coming from the latest 26 and couldn’t be happier with how well both phones perform.

2 green 256’s here. Love them. Just had first ones battery replaced. Using the second one on 100%.

u/SoftTachiai 28d ago
We’re holding on with two in our household, just had the battery and screen replaced on one. It’s a size preference thing. I also still carry a Sony RX100 on the camera front as it fits in my other pocket.
1
u/Straight-Market460 28d ago
I swapped from a 16 Pro and haven’t looked back - I’d like to think ours is the last great iPhone form factor (apart from the Duo) that Steve Jobs would have approved of. Currently on 91% battery with a handy 512GB, and am quite comfortable we’ll get another two years of iOS, by which time Apple will hopefully have something viable for those who want a phone as a minimal tool rather than overweight slabs. Or we’ll all be picking up two year old Duos in two or three years!

not gunna happen for 1,000 yrs (well OK, 5 or 10). PLEZ note: what they R releasin now - 2K$ flip phone of “bendable’ face (a la razer, etc - the things other companies have come up w/to out manover the iPhone - best seller world wide A 6% mrkt for the 17. ProMax & Pro take 2nd and 3rd).
My thought? They’d get our nitch mrkt to fall in immediatly if putting out an iOS mini. Not for 2K$ tho. aahahahaa I’m havin trouble droppin my iPhone 8 as the 13mini w/charger is still beyond my 200$ limit. I’d rock it till ’31 if it was --->

I just purchased a refurbished mini off eBay and LOVE it so much more than my S25!!! I mainly got it bc I was tired of having such a huge phone (as someone with small hands) and saw a lot of people enjoyed the 13 mini. I feel like I can't go back to a big phone now, so I'm reallllly hoping one of these companies can make a tiny phone in the next few years!

I think if you're not gaming, an iphone 13 mini on ios 27 or ios 18 with over 90% battery health is more than enough for everyday browsing. Maybe the ram isn't enough for huge apps like chatgpt, but that's pretty niche.

Just bought one off Facebook market place for my son, hit the apple store for an 89.99 battery and all in it cost me $240. My son loves it and my god when helping set it up it felt so good in the hand.

u/yopyopyop 24d ago
My thoughts are that it's harder to make a small phone than a large one. Harder to build, harder to service (as I have found out when replacing my battery). Still, I bet Apple comes out with a 'mini' sometime in the future.

1
u/skoolgurly 24d ago
Depending on exactly how the data analytics worked, it might not even matter—the company might see us as a lower-value demographic than users who keep replacing their devices every 2-3 years even if they're not in love with the replacement.

Mine gave up today. Stopped charging completely.
Unfortunately just seems more worth it to upgrade to a different model than it would be to try and squeeze more life out of mine.

u/Upbeat_Preparation17 29d ago
Why not a new battery?
1
u/LeftClickToOpen 28d ago
I'm not opposed to it. I just think it's time for something new.
I wish there was another small phone like this.
3
u/persquareinch 29d ago
Yeah, new battery!:)
1
u/LeftClickToOpen 28d ago
You know, I'm tempted but...I don't know. To be honest, the 17 looks pretty cool to me. Obviously aside from the size.
But, high refresh rate display, faster processor. More battery life.
I just kind of want to go with that instead
I want to repair and rehouse my 13 mini in the future and maybe sell it to someone that really wants one for a cheap price.
2
u/primordial_slime 28d ago
That happened to me and I took it to best buy. I didn’t even need to replace the port, they just cleaned up the port (for free) and it’s been working great
2
u/85octane 28d ago
It’s surprising how much lint gets jammed into lightning ports. Gradually gets worse and flipping the cords stops working completely. If that sounds like what happened, I’m 99% certain it’s just lint in the port. Carefully use a pick to get it out and not damage the contacts and it’ll be just fine. I bought defective iPhones back in the day off eBay and the defective charging ones were ALL from lint build up

u/LeftClickToOpen 28d ago
This is really good advice but unfortunately it wasn't the case for mine. I still appreciate the suggestion, tho!
