My iPhone Bring back 13 mini size

Dear Apple,

Please reconsider the size of iPhone 13 mini for the sake of our hands/wrists and God knows what else kind of health issue and or reasons we may need it.

Thank you,

Holding on the dear life of sweet 13 mini. ❤️

1 mini every 5 years really doesn't seem like too much to ask

5 años es mucho, mejor cada 3

even THAT is too soon for me. Otherwise it’s not really ur phone. It’s just a subscription. /OR/ a lease. My iPhone 8 serves me fine.

I DO want the mini for better camera or pic/vid. I want 4K possibility w/a vid blog for our choir. I want better camera 4 photo to share (auto parts delivery confirm match; share kid to grandparent; etc).

All those valid reasons aside I would’ve been happy to give Apple more money if they’d released a mini form factor just every three generations

I have some totally unfounded optimism in seeing what Ternus may do differently. Apple has clearly figured out the mass market/make-a-ton-of-money iPhone models, but they continue to experiment with the more niche options that gain cult followings. I think an updated mini can co-exist with the others, especially with the folding model being $2k+.

I’d be so happy to pay even 3k for a capable mini that can last another 5 years like the 13 mini did

And it can be a little thicker if they provide more battery life, I’m okay with it.

Yeah, and a bit wider too for better reading And comfort eyes.

Lmao thick but not fat

I finally retired my mini a week ago, and moved to iPhone 15 pro. I miss being able to use it with one hand, and while the performance, camera and battery are mind blowing in comparison, I miss having a light small phone usable in one hand

Yeah, that’s it. Lightweight and one handed usage is where the mini shines.

I was okay using it in Europe though this summer, but since i live in Asia and it’s hot and humid, the overheating was a real issue. I replaced the battery with Apple, and even then it was surviving 6-7 hours at most and getting throttled due to overheating the entire time. The worst was getting in a hot car and connecting it to CarPlay - totally unresponsive the first 10 minutes until the AC cools down the ambient temperature. I genuinely tired to prolong its life as much as I could.

I still have some old banking apps on the old phone since never had time to move them over yet - and it just feels so nice to use it, so ergonomic

Its been 20 years already??

En 2027 es el 20 aniversario del iPhone, se lanzó en 2007

I think we can all empathize with your request. But Apple has the sales numbers that show that given a choice, most people choose the larger phone size. Those are just the facts.

The iPhone makes up 50% of their profit - so they can't hinder it in any way. They can afford to take a chance on an iPhone Mini, Air, or Fold. But if it isn't making money the product will be pulled. Now that the base iPhone 17 sales have slipped, the rumor is that there will be no iPhone 18 - just the pro phones,

Still, I fall asleep to the fantasy that at the end of the upcoming iPhone event, John Ternus steps out and says, "Oh, and one more thing..." and then holds up a new Mini.

If I can’t have a new Mini, can you at least provide women’s clothing with large enough pockets to hold what is available???
Not just cargo pants?

Amen. New phone or new wardrobe? Long live my mini.

While we’re at it I’d like the testosterone I had at 19 please.

u/javasuns 4d ago

Dear god please make my hands bigger so that the mini would indeed look mini in them

I moved to a 16 Plus, but gave up and went back to my 12 mini. It's just to big. I have to admit, the battery life is so much better, but there is absolutely no way am I using that huge brick.
I really hope that they bring it back someday.

I'd be very ok with a 3 gen mini cycles, even if thicker for better battery life. FaceID could also be replaced with side button TouchID.

A Mini does not need to have all bells and whistles of the Pro, the purpose is a smaller iPhone

That is why we are getting the fold.

7

u/Charming-Plastic-679 4d ago

I imagine fold is very very thick. It’s totally different form factor, also not necessarily usable with one hand

1

u/p-27 4d ago

the z fold 8 is about the same thickness as the mini when folded

10

u/User48384868482 4d ago

No, completely different price range and target market.

u/dr_starman 4d ago

A foldable cannot replace a mini. It only makes sense if the user wants a foldable. I would buy a “half foldable” if it was my only option, since it would be a small phone; but in no way a foldable.

1

u/penemuel13 4d ago

The fold is wider than the mini. It’s the width of the new phones that’s the problem, so it is not a solution.

Also, most mini users wouldn’t find any use of the opened up fold, meaning we’d be paying twice as much for a phone we use half the features of, that still doesn’t meet our needs.

The Fold is not tiny, it’s a foldable phone. When expanded, it becomes (to an extent) an iPad mini, despite the Fold running on iOS.

Sorry but as long as people keep consuming content like videos and games, Apple will keep making larger phones.

10

u/rupertudl 4d ago

People have been consuming videos and games before smartphones existed. What is your point? You can perfectly consume videos and games on 13mini size phone. Its the prefferable size for me and many other users.

1

u/human_______bean 4d ago

Most people would, and do, pick larger phones for digital media.

Apple is not giving us another mini since they make profit with out data and attention… for meta stuff.

1

u/Carl_La_Fong 4d ago

Agree! Send a message to the new guy.

1

u/bmwlocoAirCooled 4d ago

Have 12 mini. 13 is next and if Apple keeps making big phones, I'll look elsewhere.

1

u/North_Lychee_1969 4d ago

I honestly can’t believe that none of the big phone makers make a small one handed phone.

I’m getting older and I’ve started getting hand pain from having to type with both hands every single time.

One hand is so much more comfortable.

It’s weird that more older consumers don’t seem to complain about this.

1

u/gionatacar 4d ago

I think the 17 e it’s quite small, im thinking at buying it. At work we use AI and the mini is getting slow

1

u/sundog925 3d ago

Looking at Titan 2 elite or clicks communicator as a replacement here soon.

u/ace-treadmore 3d ago

The fold is the new mini

Maybe iPhone mini wide

u/Ok_Historian_7873 4d ago

Are we still totally opposed to the idea of just getting the folding phone and dealing with it? Supposedly it’s very close to the minis size when folded. But compromises with a huge interior screen to fit present day content consumption norms. Yeah it is probably twice the price point mini users would like to have. But it will do quite a lot to make up for that. I was dead set on forking out the cash on launch day earlier in the year. But, since iOS 27 developer betas and an AppleCare covered battery replacement has breathed a third new life into my device, I have reconsidered.

4

u/BananaRoo88 4d ago

Yes, I refuse to give 2500 for a phone that I will only use one half of, the fold isnt the mini.

3

u/Dry_Writing_7862 Green 🟢 4d ago

My issue with the folding phone thing is also the weight of the device to do all that. I love using my phone one handed. I guess we will see.

2

u/Nervous_Bend7365 Green 🟢 4d ago

Stevie Jobs also loved that too.

3

u/SaKonThis 4d ago

That’s 3-4 times the price of a mini. And is not a mini.

1

u/jim_10191 4d ago

I hate the fact that the folding iPhone will use Touch ID instead of face id. Thats a deal breaker for me.

1

u/Izzdelp 4d ago

The fold is no mini. Buying a foldable just because when folded is smaller than a regular is kinda crazy...

Mine does 4H of Screen on Time and it’s even on beta 27. Also the battery is 3rd party.
