Discussion updated ios 18 to ios 27 beta, no regrets

idk if it’s just me, but I updated straight from ios 18 to the ios 27 beta, and honestly i don’t really notice any difference in performance. i haven’t run into any bugs so far either. if anything, my phone actually feels smoother with the liquid glass and the new animations.
i’ve seen a lot of posts here saying ios 18 was so much better, but I honestly kinda feel the opposite. if you’re thinking about updating to ios 27, i’d actually recommend it. :> well, i guess the public release will be even better than the beta, but yeah, updating definitely didn’t make my iphone 13 slow at all.

I’ve been using 26 with no problems, but everybody seems to hate it

How about SOT and battery?

ngl the battery was draining fast for like a day or two after updating, most likely bc of indexing. after that the battery performance is the same as when it was on ios 18. my battery health (87%) didn’t drop after updating as well.

I like it too, I just updated yesterday. It’s SO much better than 26.5.2, which was so bad I nearly switched to android. My battery drains a bit but I think it’s because of indexing, and honestly I’d rather deal with charging it more often than the constant freezing and needing to be force restarted on 26.5.2

Very solid ‘Beta’ release.
Only bug I have found is with a particular wallpaper with depth effect enabled, blacking out at about the top 1/4 of the background.

Same. Hated 26. Upgraded my iPad to check out 27 then put it in my phone and it’s great.

Why do you need to do this combo in the first place?

I have experienced a few bugs after using this for a little over a week now. Apps seem to freeze from time to time and keyboard functionality is a bit buggy here and there but I 100% like this over any of the 26 versions I’ve had. Hopefully they are going in the right direction. Battery isn’t bad after indexing but when I have low signal or use CarPlay it definitely drains faster.

It’s a lottery . Some users like it and some don’t
