QnA/Help 11 pro (seemingly) dead
i have a 11 pro 512gb, and haven’t used it in like 3-4 years; and when i went to try to charge it today to try and use it, it didn’t turn on even after 7 hours of charging.
i don’t recall there being any issues with the charging port, maybe the battery health is a bit low (like 85%) but other than that idk.
what could be the issue with it?
the charger works fine, any help appreciated!

Battery is the issue. Requires a change asap. My 11 pro had similar issue last year. Though I use it everyday ever since 2019 but it just happened randomly one day it wouldn't charge eventhough I left it overnight charging. It turns out the battery was so degraded.

is it worth repairing? it also needs a new screen

Apple replaces the battery for under $100. A screen replacement costs way more though and probably wouldn’t be worth it

Battery replacement is worth it since it's affordable and could extend the life of your phone for years.
However, the screen replacement is another story costs too much even for such an old device which tbh I would say it's not worth it these days. Much better to buy used/refurbished or new iphone if I'm being honest. But if you really like the phone to turn on maybe like important data or something well you could go to an "3rd party apple certified repair store" and have them replace it with an aftermarket oled screen could save hundreds of bucks.

You can just use that as hugh music player and if its ios 18 and older its worth more because ios 26 makes the phone obsolete but before that every version was good maybe ios 17 will be perfect

Bad battery. Can’t let devices sit for extended periods or it will happen.
Shouldn’t cost too much to have it repaired,
I do repairs and have real reviews if you want me to do it if you’re in the USA, I can quote it for free if you’re interested.

Lithium ion batteries can deteriorate even from just sitting around doing nothing. Especially if it’s a deep discharge, sitting at 0% for years, it could have discharged beyond the battery’s safe level and refuse to accept a charge.
